Alice had been engrossed in her book, hadnât paid attention to his arrival until he realized he was speaking to her. âI don't know, parties have never really been my thing." In particular parties where she hardly knew anyone. The girl could be social and make friends easy enough, but she needed someone to gravitate towards. "The cabaret theme does sound interesting. What made you decide to go with that?"
he wilts dramatically, sitting down next to her in earnest, in another life he thought he was an actor. âoh, you've never been to one of my parties ! they're completely memorable for all the right reasons,â he explains, âwhile i am known to throw a rager, this one will be much more intimate, only close friends and people i think are acceptable enough.â
âi'm always inspired to do something different and every great party has to have an interesting theme.â he explains, âit's something i like to revisit every few years as well ... i want to make it a tradition. â

The book was tucked back into her bag, as it seemed for the moment at least she wouldn't be getting any reading done. "Oh really? And what makes yours stand out from all the others? " Alice was a bit skeptical. In her experience parties were all the same, now matter how they were gussied up. "So why invite me then? Since I don't recall us being close friends."
"It's certainly one of the better themes I've heard in a while." She offered him a smile. "If it's a success then why not make it a tradition."
