There’s a small nod to follow the boy’s words. He was right - she was having one of those moments. She reached for a locket hidden under her shirt and pulls it out to open. She’s still listening to him, of course - because not listening would be rude. But she has more attention to the picture inside of the locket.
“Yeah….I’m actually a singer - so I’m around people almost 24/7. I don’t get a lot of privacy or time to myself. My manager is nice and gives me a flexible schedule but sometimes it’s still to much.” Not that she’d tell Haeun that - he was doing the best job he could. He was more of a military man than a business man after all.
Her thumb rubs over the picture and she gives a small sigh, sinking into her seat in the process. “Things were a lot simpler before I started singing professionally. I don’t regret moving on or anything but– sometimes i wish i could have days like that again.”
His eyebrows shot up into his hairline. A singer? That was surprising. Did she mean like “human” people? Not that Sora was complaining, mind, but most people with magical qualities would want to stay out of human eyes. Er, so he thought.
The server came by with a tray, setting their two oolong teas down and taking their number tag. He waited until the guy was gone mulling over the information thoughtfully. “That’s tough…” he admitted. “Especially when everyone wants your attention like that.”
Not that Sora knew personally, but he did have certain friends that had to deal with just that. He eyed the locket in her hand, suspicion and sympathy tugging at his heart. He had a feeling what the problem was.
“Look, I don’t know much about show biz, but… why not take a week off or something? We’re only human, we need a break every now and then.” Ha, not mentioning the irony there. “I know your work is important an’ all, but it shouldn’t make you unhappy. If you keep going like this, it’ll just feel worse.”
The locket snaps close after a few moments and Tani puts it back underneath her shirt and out of sight. Her eyes were shifting colors again. She was feeling so many things at once- even if she had a grasp on how to control the color changing, she probably wouldn’t be able to at this moment.
She looks up at him and gives a smile. It’s not terribly bright, probably more tired than anything, but it was there. “Maybe you’re right.” She said, sitting herself back upright in the chair, leaning over the table a little bit. “It’s been awhile since I’ve had some me time. I’ve been so focused on pleasing everyone else.” She sighed, leaning her head into the palm of her hand.
That’s when her eyes went to a normal state- a blue hue showing that she was now at least calm. She had a plan now, she would just ask Haeun if she could have a few days off.
“Thanks -- um- Sora, right?”
