“You know what? It doesn’t even matter. It’s not a big deal. Topic change?” 

“If it’s bothering you then it’s a big deal. But fine, if you don’t want to talk about it I won’t press you...too hard.”

“This is supposed to be snow, not rain. It’s December! Damn global warming.”

“--Honestly, I’d rather have rain than snow. With snow, there is shoveling and slipping on ice.”

“I don’t want to talk about it..” Eve didn’t want to think about the blackout or what she could’ve done or what she actual had done. It was fucking her up.

“Not even to me?...”

“So…are we going back to your room or mine?”

"Woah this is new. My room is fine, I’m sure it’s closer but if we are going to go just ignore the giant floral painting on my wall.”

“Oh, I assure you, it wasn’t the good porn.” Aiden replied, full conviction behind his statement, not even ashamed that he sounded so positive about this. When he was a teenager, and after discovering his ability, he’s seen a lot of porn, so it’s pretty safe to say that he has a good idea of what he’s talking about.

“Tsk,” she sucked her teeth. Honestly, if someone was going to go through the trouble of watching porn when there were so many technology based inhumans they could have the decency to go high end. “Such a shame, some people have no tastes. Anyway, welcome back stranger.”

“I leave for a few months and now everyone has a fucking virus on their computer? Seriously guys, I wired the system to block most porn cites for a reason.”

“And you know I bet it wasn’t even the good porn. It was probably that low budget stuff, you know with the terrible music and shot with someone’s shitty phone.”

“You’re not? You’ve been dating the wrong asshole guys then, or you’re not enough of an asshole girl yourself. We make excellent partners in crime you see.” he said with a wink. “Who stood you up twice? Asshole guys are also great friends because they don’t care punching guys that stood you up in the face.” He smiled, looking rather proud of himself. “No, please no science.”

“I’m trying to be less of an asshole, since I’m a mature eighteen year old. Okay that sounds weird and like a lie but it’s true. Hell yeah! I need some partners in crime, my best friend always follows the straight and narrow.” She said feeling a little bit more optimistic. “This loser, he transferred out so it isn’t a problem. He was cute though, and Julian is totally dating or into some blonde that isn’t my sort of friend Cerise.” I swear is everyone getting laid but me?

“I would? What a loss of sleep then.” he said while opening his eyes. “I’ve been exhausted lately, I don’t know why.” he pulled the textbook from under him and handed it to her. “There you go. It’s not really all that comfortable.”

“Yes you would, but it’s not gonna happen. I’ve not into asshole guys, I already had one stand me up twice,” she said taking the text book. It wasn’t much but she could at least try to act like she cared about her classes this term. “I wouldn’t think it would be, though it’s good for if you want to go to sleep. All sciencey and shit you know, nerd lab stuff.”

“Am I?” Kyle asked without opening his eyes. “What time is it? Why am I on your textbook? Did we have sex?”

“You wish. Trust me if we did you would be way more sure than that. No we were chilling and you fell asleep or something.” 

Look at this shit! Isn’t it amazing? 

“Fuck yeah! I call seconds!”

“What do you want, I’m sleeping.”

“I need you to move. You’re kinda sleeping on my textbook.”

What? Don’t you like my dance?

“No...it’s not that. More like you gotta put your back into it like this.”

“Well I could’ve also just teleported us upstairs.” Kyle said with a little smile. “Third floor and room of your own mh? What are you, highly dangerous?”

“Another person with a useful power, I’m going to make sure I memorize that,” she tapped the side of her head. As soon as he asked if she were dangerous she stopped midway from turning the door knob all of the way. “I wouldn’t say I’m highly dangerous, only unpredictable.” 

‘Kids?” Cal asked. “But I’m not a kid am I? I’m twenty-five!” Cal looked at her and the memories started to pour over him. “Oh…” he just said as if it all made sense now. He remembered but perhaps he could have a little bit more fun with it now he was aware of the fact he had changed to his ten year old self.

“Twenty-Five? You’re seriously going to go with that?” She raised an eyebrow. “You’re what twelve tops. Gotta say, I feel good not being one of the younger ones around here.”

“I-I’m Cal.” he said. He had to change back, he had to change back. It was a thought that would constantly go through his mind but he didn’t yet know what it meant.

“Do you know how I have to change back?” he asked her. “My head is telling me to do so, but I can’t reach the memory yet.” He didn’t fully realize how vague he sounded since it all made perfect sense to him.

“Nice to meet you, though I figured S.H.I.E.L.D would keep the kids in their own separate division.” Unless they wanted one of them to show them the way.

“Change back? I know nothing about your power so I can’t tell you how to change back. That’s something you gotta figure out on your own kid.”

Kyle grinned. “Sorry for my impatience.” he said while kept on following her.

“Apology accepted. Trust me if I had super speed we would be there by now, these stairs are a pain.” Astrid groaned wishing she had taken the elevator, climbing that last set of stairs she reached her door. “We’re here.”
