He knew that if he did this that he’d have something to talk about besides having to defend himself from everyone’s persecution. Well, he did deserve it somewhat. He left college to do what was expected of him. He was just twenty-two and he was forced to live like some old man. But it’s okay, right? Since he’s doing it for his family? Flicking through the book in his lap as he sat on a bench in the park, he nipped his bottom lip as he tried to concentrate.

Ryan had been distracted with schoolwork for the last few weeks (or if he was honest, he’d been avoiding any opportunity he might wound up face to face with Missy) to the point that he felt like he was going insane if he did’t get the taste of sunlight on his skin. He ended up wandering to the park, hoping that the lively surroundings would be enough to keep his thoughts from escaping him. Sitting himself down a random bench, he almost didn’t notice the company next to him until he felt the faint feeling of stress emanating from his peripherals.
