A little background
Through school, both high school and elementary, I worked hard. I wasn't one of those kids that just got things naturally, or didn't have to do homework or study to do well. For my weekly spelling tests, my mum would go over the words with me every night. If I got any wrong, I had to write them out correctly, 5-10 times depending. As I got older, people would always say things like "oh I wish I was smart like you" or "I wish I could just get things like you!" And I would always tell them that I just worked hard. It's just always been that way in my house. My mums parents are immigrants, and my dad came to Canada from Croatia in the 70's as a child. A strong work ethic is in my genes I suppose, but my parents made sure I worked as hard as they did, and as hard as their parents did. Nothing comes easy.
