my violent dislike for the vinsmoke bros aside, i feel like the idea that the root of their wickedness is their psychopathy is inherently flawed, and fails to account for the fact that there are people irl with a neurotype like the vinsmokes who make the conscious choice to be good people and live honest, fulfilling lives. they’re bad people because of their nurture and their actions, and while it is tragic that they literally had their emotions taken from them for the sake of reducing them to soldiers instead of people, lack of emotions ≠ lack of humanity. their psychopathy certainly made them more susceptible to the ideas judge instilled in them, but had they been introduced to literally any ideas of empathy or morality growing up, it’s not impossible to believe they could have still made the choice to be good people and practice empathy consciously.
