Like seriously go read the fic. It's not complete but it's amazingly written, incredibly funny, the character relationships are compelling, Omori's personal growth is beautifully done, and the author clearly has so much love and understanding of the game. I read it, then reread it, and it's always open on my phone so I can dive back in at any time.

Not to mention that their arcs kinda mirror each other with the themes of revenge being central and and empathy towards the enemy playing out while their friends try to keep them in line so they do not lose themselves to madness.

Kurapika and Gon are both goal-oriented and can turn reckless to achieve said goals. They are really on the same wavelength.

(Leorio and Killua on the other hand are the ones who get worried all the time trying to make sure they don't lose their lives on a regular Tuesday evening).

I also want to point out that the reason Killua was drawn to Gon is similar to the reason Kurapika was drawn to him, but Killua over time turned protective instead and unlike Kurapika he does not hold the same understanding and admiration of his reckless nature as he used to do when he first met him.

Dudebros in the HxH fandom believe that killugon fans will cry and shit their pants if or when killugon doesn't become canon when Hunter x Hunter ends. And as a killugon shipper -- I am only speaking for myself, idk about others -- I won't be upset at all whatever the nature of Gon and Killua's relationship turns out to be. Do I think Killua has a crush on Gon? Yes. Do I believe that there is romantic subtext in their friendship? Absolutely. But what matters the most to me is that Killua and Gon reunite, resolve their tensions from the previous two arcs, and they stay together forever (very naive, I know). Whether they are declared to be strictly platonic, or ambiguous, or in an explicitly romantic relationship, from the bottom of my heart, I DO NOT care. I just want them to make each other happy in whatever way they can.

Togashi has so far never let me down with his writing, so I have the hope that I will be satisfied with whatever ending he has in mind. Even if there is a ton of bloodshed and angst, not in a Game of Thrones type of way, but in a "This is what Hunter x Hunter is all about" type of way. If Togashi stays true to what makes HxH the manga that it is, I will be satisfied. I hate how dudebros just assume that all killugon shippers are just mindless fujoshis without any media literacy when I have never seen such high quality analysis as I have from killugon fans.

An ending that will disappoint me is if Gon and Killua end up in heterosexual relationships with characters they have no chemistry with -- female characters with no independent depth. But as Togashi has managed to subvert the audience's expectations of shounen so many times, I am sure that he would do it once more.

I am not gonna sit here and say that I 100% believe that Killua and Gon will end up together romantically. It would be amazing for sure, but there is obviously a lot more to HxH that should be prioritised in the end.

So YES, every single relationship pairing (canon or not) will be toxic in some way or another, and YES, it will include sa because the relationships are messed up and deranged (that being said, sa is not acceptable at all and we should acknowledge that it's fucked up and should NOT be romanticized)

That's literally the reason why people watch it, the toxic dynamics are interesting, and despite it all, you know that the characters genuinely love each other

They're just incapable of expressing it healthily

Then one pops up.

Initially I go “fuckkk, where’s the skip button”… until I look at what the advert is. It’s for Block Blast, nothing unusual.

The advert itself though.

I remember I think Horikoshi openly shipping them and using Killugon as basis for Bakudeku while Gege openly took Killugon nachos to make the relationship of Geto/Gojo and possibly the homoerotic tension between Yuji and Megumi.

This is not even to mention the actual BL and GL that was inspired by them. This to say if you wonder why certain shounen is homoerotic 99% of the time is because the mangakas were fans of Hunter X Hunter.

Like unironically Killugon was one of the biggest blueprints in gay shipping in shounen spaces. There would probs be no Bakudeku or Satosugu if not for what is pretty much a love story between two boys (what type of love story is open to interpretation)
