Hi there! I saw people send you sometimes fun stuff about Zestious and I got smth to share, too! I just got that scene stuck in my mind. I actually imagine it rather in the Zestial/fem!Pentious way but I'll put it in ordinary way here.
Like, Zestial is getting completely fed up with demons pestering him and Pentious about them being from two different leagues and how their positions in Hell is soooo far apart. So once he answers smth like (sorry i don't speak old english) "Yes, you're right. There is such a void between us." And of course Pentious is so stressed cuz he often thinks how's Zestial is the most fearsome overlord while he's a laughing stock but Zestial just says: "I'm still wondering how am I so lucky for someone like him to bat an eye on me. The first ever soul to be redeemed and get in Heaven and back in Hell? A part of the Princess' family and a good friend of the young Seraph up there, too? This fine man was brave enough to try and attack the leader of the Exorcists and the Radio Demon, not to mention not being scared of me in slightest. You're definitely correct I am far away from his league." And sure Pentious is baffled and all tears cuz he's never heard anything like that before about himself. That and cuz Zestial is being so awfully sweet that somebody would probably get their teeth rotten after that. But Pentious never thought he could fall for that man even harder then he is already. He's completely lost at that point honestly.
Idk I really want to write a fanfic about it but I have my doubs and second thoughts, lol. Hope you find it cute anyway!

An analysis on how Sir Pentious' character design represents his personality and development perfectly (beware of Hazbin Hotel spoilers)
Let's get this out of the way: Sir Pentious is a snake, an animal mostly known for generally believed negative traits such as poison, deceit and betrayal. We don't know WHY he's in Hell, maybe he was a "snake oil salesman" considering he comes from the Victorian times and he's into hyping up what he does, or maybe he was into war. Thing is, he's a Sinner whose design just scream "Evil".
(BTW, a snake could also represent "fertility": looking at you, Egg Boiz!)
He always had eyes all around him not just because of a stylistic choice.
Sir Pentious always felt like he was watched, and had to watch out for any danger.
"Everyone here is too nice: obviously it must be a lie! I can sense they are planning to kill me, but when?! HOW?! I must be PREPARED!"
Sadly, he's been constantly berated by other demons, far more effective in destruction, status, cruelty and charisma. Alastor won't ever bother to remember him, Cherri always ones up him, and the Vs, the ones he admires to most, won't care less about him.
To the point that Vox sent him as a spy without the intention to save him if things were going to fail. Heck, he even openly tells him to die while calling him a failure.
So of course he's got reasons to have trust issues, or taking everything so seriously, being constantly reminded of what he can't accomplish. So he puts an air of grandure that may be very flamboyant, but is VERY frail.
But, if we have to be frank here, his biggest source of insecurities... is himself.
He has eyes on his tail (his softer, more vulnerable side, which is ironically made even MORE lieable to getting hurt because of how sensitive those organs are), and inside his hood, so he could look out better for danger when on alert mode.
Heck, even the mark on his hood kinda resembles one eye.
Problem is, when you see his hood folded, when he's at ease, neutral or sad, those are not looking at outside sources.
They're looking at him, at his back. A constant stare that happens everytime he lets his guard down and shows how vulnerable he is. A gaze that can sense all of his weakness, his struggles, his insecurities.
And it's all him.
Pentious constantly believes that his inferiority complex will fade away once he'll accomplish something grand that will make others accept him. But he is his biggest critic, his worst enemy: HE is the one who believes he's a failure, that he'll never gain approval from others.
This show takes place in Hell, but this is Sir Pentious' personal Hell: insecurity born out of self hatred. Doomed to feel everyone's gaze upon him, including his own. Believing the danger to his self esteem is from others, when it's really from him.
But then he's accepted at the Hazbin Hotel: Charlie forgives him, he bonds with Angel, Husk and Niffty who don't care a bit about what he's accomplished or not, or what he's done in the past.
He feels more comfortable in showing his vulnerable side, and no one judges him for how easy it is for him to get emotional.
Of course he's still very insecure, considering how he struggles to confess to Cherri, but notice how he stops building machines or planning to attack others as soon as he starts bonding with the others: he doesn't have a reason to destroy or attack, now that he knows he's loved.
And his final design, when he goes to Heaven, shows how much he's changed, yet stayed the same. He may have died a hero, but he's still the same awkward snake we've come to love.
Speaking of love, let's talk about that!
No more eyes on his tail, now it's just on his chest (showing he's opened his heart), his glasses are now heart shaped, and even the markings inside his hood resemble kiss marks more than anything else.
And look: the mark on his hood is now heart shaped!
Why all these hearts? Why did all the eyes disappeared from his body? Even his eyes that were looking at his back?
Simple: love. Love defeated his insecurities and self hatred. He died for love.
He died protecting his friends, his new family, his new home.
He confessed and kissed Cherri knowing full well he wouldn't have made it, and yet he went anyway.
The usually cowardly and timid Pentious actually faced a great danger with courage and determination: he acted selflessly by putting himself in harm's way, he didn't steal (naturally) and by going against Adam he did indeed "stick it to the man"!
He used his weaponry knowhow and battle experience not to conquer, but to save his loved ones.
His only thought up until his demise was: "I'll go down protecting them".
And he's been rewarded not only by becoming an angel, but also being spawned directly in front of Emily and Sera, two Seraphim, the highest rank for an angel to have, who have also been depicted as snakes of fire throughout history! Sir Pentious, the lowly demon considered a failure by everyone, actually has been noticed by the Seraphim! He's come so far!
He's now come to represent the REAL symbolism of a snake: the duality of death and rebirth, transformation and immortality (ironically a reference to the fact he's been around since 1888 without ever dying from any Extermination or blessed weapons).
And isn't so poetic that a snake, the "source of the original evil", was the first sinner to ascend to Heaven? Or that this episode was released on February 1st, or National Serpent Day?
And of course, as the Bible itself says:
"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down oneâs life for oneâs friends."
(John 15:13)
And knowing him, I'm confident in saying he'll keep helping his friends even in his new position, like the soft hearted noodle he's always been, but was to afraid to show it up until now.

As for their dynamic and relationships it's also pretty variative. Personally I am not a fan of any ships at all (neither threesome of Vees', Vox/Valentino nor Cherrisnake or whatever ships in show basically) but you may consider it either plain business partnership and friendship or the lovers-triangle if you wish. I really can see it work all the ways possible.
They can barely tolerate each other or be connected only by Angel or Cherry and keep fighting in a funny silly ways all the time. You know, like Vox is a glue between Val and Velvet or how Velvet used to be a glue between Vox and Val before the show.
They can be an actual family supporting and caring for each other genuinely and deeply inspite of their disagreements but still play on each other nerves from time to time. Similar to what we've got in the show among the Hotel-cast, you know.
Or may be they are kind of trio of goofballs hanging together and getting in silly mischievous all the time. Just like it was in pilot but Pentious is in team too instead of being the one off out!
Or maybe it's a classic "Angel and Cherry being bros" and "Pentious being in love with Cherry" if you want it this way. I mean, sure, why not? It's still basically canon. Weather Cherry is cool with it or totally pissed is up to you. They may even be an official pair if you want them to! With Angel being a proud matchmaker haha! Maybe he keeps an eye for them both and gives advices always hearing both points of views from Cherry and Pentious respectively.
Or you may even have Angel to fuck with both of them (Angel/Cherry and Angel/Pentious) or just Angel/Pentious and Pentious/Cherry (is Cherry/Pentious and Cherry/Angel is a thing? Like only her with boys?) or them all three do it among themselves, separately or simultaneously, whatever honestly. I mean, there is still a joke about two dicks, you know... Eh, I don't know, haha, I'm aroace actually, I don't get that part.
And considering their roles in trio, is it that one of them should always be a voice of reasons in the group and they switch this role or is each of them just go separatly on their own business and they bearly influence each other? Is it like they have "a serious one", "a dorky one" and "a between one"? Or does it depends on situation? Do they fight a lot and just how hard? Do they play pranks on each other? How do they cooperate their work and spheres? Do they help each other out on their respective problems? Like Cherry and Angel using Pentious's inventions or Cherry letting Angel's employees use her clubs and security and stuff like that? Just like Valentino uses Vox's cameras and other techs for his shootings.
So many ways to put it into! And so much fun! Just think of it, really!
Ah, well, thank you so much if you read it all. I got myself in rumbling a bit, sorry! But this concept has really flooded my mind today and I really wanted to share it. I also have some funny ideas for other characters in this au (like maybe Husk for Zestial and Veggie for Carmilla and few other roles) but I guess I'll just make a few separate posts maybe. I'll consider it anyway.

Now Sir Pentious as Vox... I know that Alastor would be the most expected to take this place but still! I believe there is some potential, too. First I just don't see what kind of dynamic Alastor would have with Angel and Cherry especially since he isn't actually a team player and rather independent. But Pentious? Boy, he is so up to be a part of any team or collective! He is the oldest one, too, (living the earliest and dying before his partners) making him the first in group followed by Angel like in Vox and Valentino's case. He is also strongly connected to technologies and inventing and what's the most important he also has the hypnosis power like Vox. No idea if it is strong enough but he did put Angel in short trance in series. You may say that his technologies are too ancient for something like Vox-tech, but not really. Did you see that laser raygun he was pointing at Nifty and his Deathray? Lasers and rays are quite modern and greatly ahead of the Victorian era. And those sensore panels and touch-screens he uses on his blimp and in the final battle? Those rather look like steampunk mixed with futurism and sci-fi! Modern enough for me, honestly. Also he handles smartphones and Vox-watches fine enough to do at least some manipulations with them. Besides his sphere of control could be not that modern technologies and devices like Vox but some other non-digital inventions and machines. Something more mechanical and less computer-like I guess? You can also play a bit with his personality. We saw in the show that he can be quite impressive and stoic when he really wants to so I think he could fill up Vox's image just fine being tactful, noble, respected and well-mannered gentleman with some little quirks of his but still looking dangerous enough and both being serious and emotional. He even could use his Victorian origine to use complicated language construction and trick people's mind sometimes. But! If you want him to be more like in show you can still make him sensitive and a bit socially awkward. Maybe he isn't the same as Vox's role in this trio then and he is rather a backstage player who just invent things to supply Hell and don't really influence anybody letting Angel and Cherry showing for public instead. Although he most definitely would love attention and all the praises he could get for his machines, haha! But still it depends on how you want to see him - a serious threat and the one in charge since he is so fearless and dashed and kind of tactic (he coordinated people in the final battle after all showing himself as decent commander and an actual team-player) or just an adorable precious goofball seeking for love and support from his teammates. Or maybe even something in between - it's still up to you!

Okay, guys, maybe it's stupid but I've just thought about a Hazbin-AU with Angel Dust, Cherry Bomb and Sir Pentious as Vee's? I only don't know what they would be called together, that's tricky. Now, I know it sounds silly but hear me out! It actually can be fun and make sense in some kind of swap-au.
It is a very long post under the cut!
I just basically love the potential dynamic of those three so it kinda just came over me. They can both keep bickering back and forth among them just like original Vees but they also may have some nice bonding like them when they deal with peculiarity of each other.
So the most obvious two first:
Angel Dust as Valentino and Cherry Bomb as Velvet. Guess, it's easy enough to imagine. They are connected strongly and Angel was surely the one to drag Cherry in this.
Angel is still in porn-industry but now he is the one in charge. Maybe he controls most of drug trafficking too? Weather you want to change his personality or not he may be either just as evil and cruel as Valentino or he could be a kind of person who went through similar shit as in canon and now he is more like Asmodeus: against rape and love potions, patronizing and protecting those who was assaulted and got in this industry on some bad terms. Maybe he tries hard to take care of his subjects, gives them shelter and sense of protection. Or maybe he's been hurt so much in past that now he became aggressive and unstable with frequent outbursts and all around mad and total mess because of his deep trauma and his fear of loosing any control. It's up to you fully! Oh, and he is the one with extra-arms, too, haha!
Now Cherry, just like Velvet, is the youngest one in group. She both is younger then Angel and Pentious and also died the last just like Velvet. She's more quick, active and modern one. She also teased Pentious old in the Pilot like Velvet did to Zestial in series so it could be her thing, too. Her explosive personality would also add a nice feature for taking Velvet's place. I'm pretty sure that she is also good with internet and knows fairy well how to catch and hold someone's attention and what's trending right now and may be the one to control the fashion sphere, too. Well, maybe not fashion but at least she could be all about being really cool and "on the style". Although if you want her to be more like in canon and different from Velvet then her thing could be the entertaining sphere instead of internet: bars, clubs, alcohol and drugs maybe cool extrem shows in Hell? Any kind of those insane and extreme things people love to watch and sometimes even gamble. Like crazy freestyle motorsports, fights without rules or something? Once again weather you want to change her personality or not she could be different. It's either her being as pesky and snobbish as Velvet since it's easy to imagine Cherry to insult and pick on people without the second thought simply for fun and some laugh. But you also could consider her being the one who makes some "order" through the chaos without strict rules that she hates. Like people could take part in her attraction-fights on special arenas to win a domain rather then going for turf-wars? And she is controlling most of clubs and gamehouses in Pentagram-city knowing exactly what's going on there? It's up to you if you want her to be good, bad or just chaotic.
I like to think he's coldblooded. Many people seem to agree but I haven't seen a lot of elaboration on this besides "oh he likes to cuddle to steal heat" which, YES, GOOD, I LOVE IT, but there's more to it. So here are some more thoughts:
First off, contrary to what some may believe, he is not, in fact, cold to the touch (and neither are... all sorts of his bodily fluids, as enticing as it is to imagine otherwise), at least not optimally. Being coldblooded doesn't mean you're actually cold, it means you rely on the environment to warm yourself up so you're typically about as warm as the environment is.
He also doesn't sweat. I might've slightly retconned that from a previous comic... Or maybe he can sweat nervously only for comedic effect. As a treat. (Or I could adopt the anxious sliminess headcanon bc yeah it doesn't make sense for him to be slimy all the time, snakes are actually particularly dry. But high stress = fight or flight = more slippery for an easier escape makes a lot of sense!) But overall, sweating is primarily a way of regulating temperature from within, something coldblooded beings can't do.
Lastly, if he lets his temperature drop too low, he becomes lethargic. This usually doesn't affect him in his everyday life since I like to think Heaven is rather pleasantly warm and Hell was even more so (and I do like the idea of him constructing and installing a mild heating system into his jacket to keep his temperature relatively stable), but he needs to be careful with ice cold foods and drinks. He can consume them but needs to make up for the lost warmth right after, unless it just so happens to be very hot that day - then, cooling down is very necessary as well, as it could lead to a feverish state. He can withstand heat easier than warmblooded beings, however.
Speaking of cold foods, here's a bonus headcanon: when he does eat ice cream (of the lickable variety, not just from the tub), he will usually use a spoon. With how thin his tongue stretches when he sticks it out, it would take him forever to eat đ

((Am i the only one that feels like they missed a huge narrative opportunity with Sir Pentiousâs death?
Like yes, it is fine and good that he became the first redeemed soul, Iâve since made my peace with that and can concede that it has a ton of interesting narrative potential and ways to forward the plot that they still hope they use him with in season 2, but the way they couldâve made his sacrifice into something that wouldâve been a PERFECT way to hammer in the narrative of the show, and yet they turned it into a useless anti-climatic gag that ultimately wasted what they couldâve done with it.
Like, for example, it has been noted and discussed many times in the fandom that the final fight is all about love and compassion triumphing over senseless cruelty. This is seen with how Lucifer comes in to save Charlie when all hope is lost, with how Angel saves the Eggbois from an exorcist because he knows Sir Pentious cares for them, how Cherri is there to help Angel fight because theyâre friends and how Husk fights to protect everyone because heâs grown too fond of everyone else to walk away. The only one who ultimately doesnât fight for love and compassion is Alastor, who tries to fight Adam one to one out of little more than pure ego and spite. And what happens? He gets his fucking shit rocked, is nearly mortally wounded, and flees from the battle entirely to avoid death.
And, ultimately, this is seen in Pentiousâs sacrifice, as he takes off in his ship to try and face down Adam because he recognizes that heâs the biggest threat to their defenses and that if heâs allowed to continue his rampage, everyone will die. Of course, we all know how that sacrifice goes; Pentious being instantly obliterated in a single blast by Adam before Pentious can do anything, in a comedically abrupt and anti-climatic gag to offset the seriousness of the moment. And while it was initially funny in the moment, I think it severely weakened the tone of the moment and, ultimately, as I will explain, ruined what couldâve been a grand and drastic moment, not only for Pentious, but for the hope and love Charlie inspired in him.
You see, the line Adam says directly afterward after killing Pentious is âthat couldâve been ugly.â Which, to me, heavily implies that if Pentious had actually gotten off a shot, it probably wouldâve done damage and actually hurt Adam, which mightâve helped turn the tide of the battle even before Lucifer had shown up.
So then I got to thinking, imagine if he HAD gotten the shot off? Imagine if he HAD actually wounded Adam?
Sir Pentious. A demon constantly craving recognition and attention, who was never able to get it. Someone who was always considered a useless weakling, a laughing stock, a desperate pathetic idiot who was better off dying than ever being able to be anything of worth in the eyes of most demons and Overlords in Hell, despite how hard he tried to become just as fearsome as them. A demon regarded as a nobody, unrecognizable and totally worthless and forgettable, in Alastorâs eyes, and in the Vâs.
A demon everyone has looked down and regarded as weak, hurting the First Man, the leader of the Exorcists, wounding him, in a sacrificial effort to protect his friends. Hurting the most powerful Exorcist in Heaven, out of love for his friends, to protect them and save them from death, when Alastor, a selfish and sadistic egotist who didnât care about anyone else, wasnât able to put a scratch on him.
Imagine Pentious being able to hurt Adam more in a noble sacrifice to save his friends than Alastor of all demons, who was unable to when he was only fighting for himself. The poeticism in that. The rawness of that, in a story all about how love and compassion and kindness for others can triumph over the most senseless cruelty and hatred.
Imagine if the blast had gone off.
Imagine if it had caught Adam at the last second. Grazing a shoulder perhaps. Burning his wing. Sending him tumbling out of the sky.
He sends a holy blast up toward the ship, enraged by the fact that he got struck by such a lowly sinner, and the ship canât get out of the way in time, and Pentious knows that.
One of the Eggbois is screaming and shouting about an incoming attack and how the ship is unable to evade.
And Pentious just slowly takes off his hat, and as the light of the holy beam begins to consume the room, he just goes ââŚ.I know.â
He dies, accepting his death, not fearing it, knowing that what he did may have been enough to save his friends.
Cut to the ship being instantly obliterated in a massive cacophonous explosion while everyone looks on in horror from the ground.
Wouldnât that have made his sacrifice, and his consequent redemption in Heaven, so much more worth it? So much more heavy hitting?
Wouldnât that have made it actually mean something? Instead of it being made into a joke?
Came up with a new AU with my new Discord pal @mikeallenz. Still figuring it out, but itâs an AU where Flynn is still a thief and Rapunzel is the ruler of Corona. The two of them have a little flirty to and fro, as heâs the most wanted theif in the kindgom and they both really dig each other but donât want to admit it, not even to themselves. Lance is his sidekick and Kiera and Catalina are their young protĂŠgĂŠs. Meanwhile, Varian and Cass work under Raps. Cass as her royal adviser and personal bodyguard, and Varianâs her little brother and the royal alchemist.
