A Path to XCX World

There is a suspected minimal fracture in my toe. I’m feeling really down right now. I guess I will continue to cycle, but I was really looking forward to running again. I can’t believe it happened. 6 week setback, and I can say goodbye to my portable ac unit f m l. I’ll have to call the main doctor tomorrow and get it verified with my tiny hopes they are wrong, bc this urgent care was really disorganized and messy

No obvious fractures. X rays have been sent to a radiologist who is trained to find more covert injuries. They say to call back in the evening Friday if they don’t get back to me by then. Tbh I think with the more deceptive hairline fractures are usually repetitive stress injuries and not blunt force breaks, so I think I am most likely the clear. I probably just have a very bad bruise and I’ll wiggle it occasionally to test ROM, keep it limber, and get blood flow to encourage healing. I’m in the camp of thought that this is better than RICE bc it was what was given to me for my sprained ankle a few years back. RICE is good in the acute phase but tbh if it’s not super painful, just letting it become inflamed + dealing with it then do gentle exercises >>>>>>
