{ I am… so weak… Yes, to the moon and back. This has to be one of the most mature relationships that I’ve ever written, and by that I mean that both of them are so emotionally broken from their pasts and there is so much hesitance there. They’re both broken and hurt with what happened with their old loves, and I don’t think either of them will ever stop loving their deceased partners. It’s because of that that they understand each other, and connect in a way that no one else around them can. Dragon has been Rouge’s rock for over twenty years. She has trusted him with her past, with her life, and with her heart. She wants to give him her love. She cares for him when he neglects his own well being, and she wants him to rely on her even if he says he feels fine. The thought of loving someone again is frightening, but she can’t stop herself from finding refuge in his quiet and safe presence.

Holding the recent report about the army’s statistics in his hand, a paper was flipped and turned, and a breath was held. Supplies, funds, even numbers of the members were sufficient but Dragon didn’t want to become comfortable with them. Something always would draw a reduction, something always would backfire. He had been doing this long enough to know that, and it was only a matter of trying to find out what it could possibly be before it happens. The pages of the folder seemed disdainfully familiar by now, therefore the knowledge that he was missing something did little to ease his mood.

Even the fresh air from the open window in the hallway didn’t clear his head. He knew he should have taken a break before taking the report up again but he had done that, three times in fact. Having leant onto the window, he now moved away, pinching the bridge of his nose. Maybe he should take a longer break. He isn’t getting anything done at this rate. Come to think of it, he hadn’t eaten anything in hours. Then again, the uncomfortable feeling only began to grow once he thought of putting the report aside. Lifting the folder, the slightest hint of a frown showed on his brow. Again he turned the pages, reading the information over, mulling on the fact that something was not right.

He managed to get to the end of the second page by the time he noticed eyes watching him and a presence not far from him, and glanced up.

He left after a few weeks, promising to return when he finished his voyage. She had developed feelings for him at this point and was looking forward to seeing him again.

Four years later Roger returned after he disbanded his crew, and the two of them moved to a secluded home outside the island’s town. That year was peaceful, loving, fun, and everything Rouge would hope for in a relationship. However, the signs of his growing illness were obvious, even if he tried to brush it off whenever she’d grow concerned.

always wins when they play Trivia Crack

If Trivia Crack existed in the OP world, Dragon would be surprisingly good at it. Even though Rouge hardly ever wins against him she’d still play it each time.

laughs when their partner trips on something

I wouldn’t say she’d laugh, but Rouge would definitely have to suppress some giggles if she ever saw Dragon trip over his own feet.

would drop ice down the back of the other’s shirt as a joke

Neither of them, LOL. I guess Rouge would be more likely? Maybe during the one time she’s ever drunk.

spoils the ending of books/movies

Rouge does this but it’s a total accident. She’ll see Dragon reading a book, comment about a plot twist or character death and then ruin everything by mistake. SHE HAD GOOD INTENTIONS OKAY.

always posts a picture of the other as their MCM or WCW

In modern AU I don’t see Dragon using social media too much. This would definitely have to be Rouge and she’d post the cheesiest caption like ‘my biggest crush ♥’. Every week Ace and Luffy have to see this cheesiness show up on their newsfeed, and while Luffy just laughs about it and likes the photo, Ace dies of embarrassment. Rouge is the cool mom that has all of his friends on facebook so lmao

eats the last piece of cake in the fridge before the other can have it

I don’t think Dragon likes sweets that much, but he would do this with food in general. Not because he doesn’t want her to eat it, but just because he’s hungry. His eating schedule is non-existent so sometimes he has to raid the fridge in the middle of the night. Rouge doesn’t mind the missing food dishes. She’s happy that he eats.

obnoxiously celebrates Monday Punday every week

I could see Rouge doing this.. sort of. She wouldn’t be obnoxious about it though. She’d be very playful and be oblivious to how bad her puns are. Even though her puns wouldn’t be that great, the smile on her face would be far too sweet for anyone to get mad at her LOL.

makes loving hack posts on the other’s Facebook/Instagram/Tumblr/Twitter etc

On the rare occasion Dragon’s on social media and leaves the browser open when he’s finished, you could expect to find a status update that would say, ‘I have the most sweetest and beautiful wife in the world. I’m such a lucky man :) ♥♥’

has to beat their partner in every game

Dragon, but he’s so lowkey about it. He’d never admit to it.

keeps their partner up half the night talking about random stuff

Rouge, however Dragon’s sleeping schedule is messed up anyway so it’s not too bad. She only does this when she has sleepless nights anyway.

eats too much garlic and tries to kiss their partner anyway
