I currently go to a community college in SoCal right now planning to transfer to Pace University in NYC next fall. Figuring out how to earn/save more money for school, I turned to care.com for a dogsitting job. I was unfortunately contacted by a scammer who proposed a $25/hr job to dog sit for him when he moved into my area the following weeks. I was sent a cashiers check of $1900 and was told to withdraw $1500 of that check and to deposit it into another account who I was told was for his ‘dog supplier’. Very foolish of me I know. I was informed by my bank days after the deposit the check was INVALID and held me accountable for the $1500. It’s been very stressful and embarrassing since then. I filed a police report ASAP but it hasn’t done much help. To make it worse, the bank then froze my mom’s bank account and notified us that the money from my mom’s own account will be withdrawn to pay for the debt from the account..

And just like the bank said, they withdrew all the money from my mom’s account to pay off my debt, but I still owe about $200 of that debt. It's been very stressful for not only me, but mainly my mom who has been working tirelessly to fight with the bank that I am a victim of a scam and they should have caught this invalid check before I withdrew such a large amount. I clearly do not have this amount of money in hand, and my mom has had to take a harder fall from my own mistake. 

I made a gofundme account in hope of raising ANYTHING at all to fix this mess and it would be incredibly appreciated if any of my tumblr friends could help a fellow tumblrer in desperate need!
