people srsly cant tell the difference bwteen being alone and being lonely. loneliness causes nasty shit to happen to a person especially long term. We're not talking no friends from outside, being an incel with your parents being your only friends. we are talking 10+years of *nothing*. nobody to talk to at home, nobody to share your secrets with, nobody to tell about your day and have a honest convo with - people N E E D to socialize, need to feel true closure and acceptance, even from one single pathetic person. perhaps Edward liked being alone at times, we do not know him personally, but he definitely despised being lonely despite what the media say. just imagine 10+years of awful silence at home, nothing else but your own sounds its just awful. You cant tell me that didnt worsen his mental health, many like him were outcasts despite living in big cities. and no, singular interactions wont heal this wound of feeling all alone in a big world.

ive been sitting and thinking and i thought that ed never strictly said anything about his moms room being locked and why he did so, and apparently the whole augusta shrine thing is made up by the media and it accured to me that he possibly locked up her room and avoided areas where she usually was because of fear. i mean he did mention hallucinations that his mother talked to him or that he had dreams about her and eddie believed in many "fairytales" about the dead and their souls so perhaps he did it cause he thought his own mother came back to haunt him and he was simply afraid and confused. I mean look at his reaction when his house burned down, that man did not bat an eye. idk that could be just me tho..
