gentle reminder
you are working hard; i know that people may not acknowledge it sometimes, but that doesnât take that away - youâre working hard, please keep going, please keep fighting, iâm so proud of you
You have so much more time. There are so many moments ahead of you, moments that will change everything; incredible moments that will make you forget all the bad seconds, hours, days, years.
You know I had to do it

We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.
Martin Luther King Jr. (via goodreadss)
i love that moment of absolute acceptance and tranquility that washes over you exactly 1 minute and 35 seconds before an exam begins. when you look at the notes youâve been trying to absorb and realize that at this point youâre either ready or youâre not and you put them away and all the anxiety and doubt you had up until this moment just floats off you like steam from a hot summer sidewalk after a storm.
i think this exact situation is where actors who have to die on-screen draw their inspiration. that look in their eyes when they realize their wound doesnât hurt anymore, and they look at their friend, their face awash with acceptance and near-relief, and the light leaves their eyes,
they learned that in a stats class.

Iâm falling for Fall while studying in the Library! The leaves are already starting to turn to gold, but the days are still so beautifully sunny.
My calculus midterm is Monday. Iâm kinda nervous but thatâs what studying is for. If youâve got any tests/midterms coming up, keep up the effort and stay calm. Youâve got this!

July 3 2018
Iâve been on the 405 fwy like 8 times in the past week going to and from UCLA lol the traffic makes me mad
I ran MiniPrep on my own today in lab (basically itâs popping open a cell and extracting the DNA and sending it in for sequencing so you can analyze the DNA sequence for mutations or whatever) and it was my first time back in the lab in a while so i was super nervous about it but thankfully i didnât mess anything up (i thought i really screwed something up but turns out the cells didnât even grow so it wasnât my fault it was the cellâs fault lol thank goodness)
Iâve also been packing my own lunch for school and havenât missed a day so far so !!!! living in an apartment this summer is like a great warm-up for next year when iâll have a full load of classes and have to manage apartment life lol
i miss dorms so much tho

take the time to read this
look I know youâre tired, and I know youâre scared. scared of that daunting task, scared of screwing up that daunting task. I get that you might be mad at yourself for procrastinating or letting the work with seemingly far away deadlines pile up and suddenly itâs 1am and you realise your thesis for that essay is horrible and you have no idea what the hell youâre talking about. but all of that is in the past, all of those decisions in the past and you can wallow in anger and self loathing and continue to put off things you know are important, or, you could utilise the time you have right now to do as much of it as you possibly can as soon as you can. so go onto google calendar, or grab your planner, or a scrap of paper or hell, a napkin, and figure out the time you have on your hands in the next 24 hours, estimate how long you think those big horrible, breath shaking and head-in-hands inducing tasks will take. if you get it done in that time, great. if you donât, move on, you have other shit to do. itâs better to have 85% of most things done than 98% of one thing done and 2% of another thing done that will turn out to be equally as important. save yourself further stress, do the napkin plan thing, block social media sites, write down what youâre feeling if youâre feeling anything immense, because emotions tend to take your mind off things, and get it done. Whether itâs %100, %85 or even %10, get some of it done.
