I played mlqc from june 2019 until the global EOS. Gavin is like... my ult f/o and the only way to keep me off that game was to close it entirely. Even now I'm considering finding a screen translator or even learning cn properly even if it takes me forever, just so I can play in the cn server until it closes too.

I feel similarly with lads, but it's also different because while before I marginally "trusted" infold it now kind of feels like I can't (which fair. I already learned and know of how these companies work, I try my best to check my behavior too with things such as affinity level and the like). I don't spend in games, I've spent only a bit in mlqc and then in lads. A super-low spender, but the thing is I used to choose these games over something like cybird who is more blatantly money-driven. I'd always felt like I could at least trust infold with the story, in contrast to this smaller company who, while they do write good things, are also known to bias the popular characters and sometimes contradict previous things with events/sequels.

Even though I was there during part of the Shaw debacle, it still wasn't as bad as what's happening now with Valko and it feels like my comfort place was messed with. I'm still playing, just not on my phone bc it can't handle the stupid kitchen 🙄, but I'm very conflicted overall. It'll take time for things to settle in my mind I think, and for the company to pick itself back up if it will.

I don't like the idea of getting a revised, cherry-picked version of a story that was already planned. I don't like censorship at all but that's a whole different discussion.

But, I also genuinely love this stupid world they created and I adore Xavier most of all. Raf and Sylus too. They're characters that have brought me comfort over the past two years in ways that I can't even begin to explain, and they've also brought me to meet some amazing wonderful people.
