What spurred this thought was art, drawing, when i broke a brown bear down to its base level. I realized how scary an atchully encounter with a bear would be. Yes its a 400 lbs beast running at you but also the head of the bear is made by nature to scare you.

The features that make bears look like predators is two things the eyes and the jaw. Eyes on bears are small and beady not proportionate with the head. That eye to head ratio makes then scaryer, on some brown bears there eys are naturally shaded allowing for more uneasiness. Jaws on bears naturally fill the mouth with teeth and that adds more uneasiness to it all.

All those feture i mentioned also get used in horror art a lot, thats why you may find uncanny art slightly unsettling.
