Went a sewing class today and made this little friend! I learnt some cool tips and it was nice making something with other people, so I think it was money well spent. I’ll definitely be making more of these for around the house.

I had another go at a roman blind. I really wanted to have rod pockets, but didn't want to have to hand sew the lining to the front material, so I designed an ingenious (probably thought of before, but still) way of getting rod pockets minus the hand-sewing. I still have to finish off sewing the dowels to the front material so that the whole thing lifts up properly when folding. Until then, it is what it is.
Today’s mini-project was a phone charger holding thing. I spotted it online and thought it was a cool little idea. I then launched myself into making one with little to no plan as to how. The sewing is messy at best, but I just enjoyed using my shiny new silvery thread.
Using no actual measurements meant that the final thing can’t actually fit my phone in it as the cut-out for the charger is too low - but no matter. It’s making itself useful as a USB cable holder. It also worked nicely just as a house to tidy away excess lamp shade cable by the side of the bed. Regardless of the fact it’s probably a fire hazard, I like the little guy.
Made another little Kindle cover using some padding between a spare piece of patterned material from the last one and some black felty leather backed stuff I found in the bargain bin at the fabric store. I used some shiny silver thread. It was a good learning experience as I had to adjust my sewing machine settings due to the thread being quite coarse and breaking under too much tension.
I made three panels, effectively like three giant pillowcases, out of the sheer material to cover the largest window in the living room. I think that because there is no movement in the panels, all of the little inaccuracies are particularly evident. They don’t actually bother me enough to do anything about it, so I’m ok with it all now.
I used a cafe curtain rod so that it would sit quite discreetly in the frame of the window.
The material is a bit plain, but the area of the window is so large that I didn't want to committee to something too bold from the outset. We’ll see how it is to live with, particularly as the seasons change, and reassess in the summer...

Living room window. Trying to think of the best way to provide privacy and warmth without restricting the sunlight or detracting from the shape of the window.
Un-doing & re-doing some stitching. I have never used this material before, well, I haven't used many materials before, but bought 4m worth to make some covers for my living room windows.
Roman blind in progress. Messed it up so this is an interim decorative piece.| [Dimensions] | [Materials]
MacBook Air cover | This, I made 3 years&ish ago. Pleased to say that it's still in use and hasn't disintegrated to bits. [Dimensions] | [Materials]

Little padded Kindle cover | This was the first thing I made on my new sewing machine. It fits really nicely and was really simple to make. [Dimensions] | [Materials]
