What's your problem?

"You really don’t want to know." Brooklyn looked up at him, as she pushed her hair behind her ear. "You don’t want to know. I can deal with this myself. I think."

     "Actually, I do want to know.      That's why I asked." He sighed.      "But you don't have to deal      with it yourself."

Brooklyn rubbed her face gently as she heard him speak. He had let her alone about four hours. He was bound to ask at some point. “I am fine.” Yet she brushed it off again.

     "I have a hard time believing that, Brooke."      He sighed, pushing himself into a standing      position. "Look, I'm not going to make you      talk, not to me or anyone, but you can't just      keep doing this."

    “I guess at the end of the day I still have      you here.” Prim kept her arms around      him and sniffed as her tears calmed.       Soon after her shaking ceased and she      pulled away slightly to wipe her cheeks.       ”I’m sorry. I guess since I was thinking       about stuff before I fell asleep this happened.”

     Milo nodded quickly, looking down at her.      "And you always will." He added, brushing      hair out of her face. "It's okay, it happens.      Sometimes you just can't help yourself thinking      about certain things, and you definitely don't      control your nightmares."

Finley clung to him desperately, her breathing slowly calming as she listened to his heartbeat. “T-thank you, M-Milo. You..mean a lot to m-me.”

     Milo kept his arms around her tightly,      staying silent as she calmed down.      "You mean a lot to me too, Fin. You      don't have to thank me."

"No thank you..," she mumbled softly. No doubt that she was closed to most people, but usually she was completely open to him. “It’s too horrid of a dream..”

     Milo didn't exactly like the idea of her      closing herself off, but he didn't push it.       "Okay." He nodded slowly, keeping      her close. "It'll pass, it always does..."

     Gabriel wrapped an arm around her      shoulders, nodding slowly. "I know it      does. You, uh, you got a place to stay?"

    Prim felt completely comforted by his presence     and the second time he asked her to stay she      nodded in response and pressed her forehead      against his shoulder. “It’s just so horrible. Seeing     the people from school in my nightmares and      my brother in the army. Mom drinking as well.      it just hurts.” 

     "I can only imagine." He bit his lip as      he rubbed her back softly. "I'm sorry      those things hurt you the way they do.      I wish I could make it go away." He      admitted with a sigh. He cared for the      girl, and really wished she didn't have       to go through those things.

She tried moving away from him from the nightmare she had just gotten, tears streaming down her cheeks like mad. Lillian finally sniffed softly, looking at him while she stopped trying to move away. “I— I just had a really bad nightmare..” she finally said, more in a whispered tone of voice.

     "I'm sorry, love." He sighed, pulling her      close and wiping her tear stained cheeks      gently. "Do you want to talk about it?" He       asked, rubbing her back with his free hand.

Finley let out a soft whimper as images of her previous dream flashed into the confinements of her mind. “E-everyone was gone. Even y-you. Everyone left m-me alone.” She peeks up at him with watering eyes, sobbing softly.

     When she whimpered, Milo frowned      and held her closer. "No one's leaving      you, Finley. Especially not me." He wiped      her eyes gently as she started sobbing.      "Hey, Fin, come on, I got you."
