The Strange and Lovely World of Contemporary Dance

A surrealist dance film interpretation of Dwight D. Eisenhower's 1954 speech about the Domino Theory. He discussed falling dominoes as a metaphor for countries at risk of falling into communism; claiming “You have a row of dominoes set up, you knock over the first one, and what will happen to the last one is a certainty that it will go over very quickly.” Domino uses contemporary dance performance to capture the emotional climate of this particular era, which was plagued by suspicion, secrecy, and fear.
