all I need is a pizza

Seojun had met the girl in passing a few times, more like acquaintances. Though he had a soft spot for mothers, as it reminded him a lot of home. Smiling at the female, he nodded his head in acknowledgement. “I am having something sent to the hospital for you and the baby, as I know being a new mom can sometimes be stressful. I got the baby something of course, yet I also sent something for you to help you unwind.”

Eden didn’t know Seojun all that much, but she thought it was sweet that he was calling to check in on her. But then again, her phone had been blowing up since it was announced that she had been rushed to the hospital.  “You didn’t have to get us anything,” She told him. The truth was, i twas hard when people brought her things as right now her baby was in the NICU and she wanted to be sure her baby was okay.

Eden’s labor wasn’t easy. She had every intention on a natural labor, but that wasn’t what happened. She had been rushed into an emergency c-section. “I’m trying to be good. I haven’t been feeling all that great.” She admitted. Her mind was focused on her small baby though, not so much on herself. Even if she hadn’t been feeling great.

Jules sat on her couch after a long day of work and classes. She checked the time, and figured it’d be an okay time to call Eden. She had visited her a couple of times, but didn’t want to bother her too much. She knew she was probably flooded with phone calls and visitors, and that she probably didn’t want to entertain her cousin and best friend too much. “Please.” She sipped on her tea. “Your phone is probably blowing up. I can’t blame you. How are you? And my baby cousin?” She asked, a bright smile on her face even though she was a little worried for them. 

Jules was one of the few people who she had let come to visit at the hospital. She was one of her best friends, and her cousin. She wasn’t up for many visitors, she didn’t want people to see her in this state, but she was sure Jules had seen her just as bad states throughout her life. “I’ve been tempted to just turn it off. People won’t leave me alone.” She told her, “Not you of course though. You can call whenever.” Eden adjusted herself in her bed, “I’m feeling a bit better. I’m still exhausted. She’s doing okay, they told us there isn’t much we can really do right now. I’m just always worried about her.”

This week hadn’t gone exactly the way the brunette planned. She surely wasn’t expecting to have a baby this week, yet here she was a new mother laying in her hospital bed. She had let in very few visitors to see her and the small baby. But her phone had been going off like crazy, she had been ignoring it for the most part but this time she decided to answer. “Hey, sorry I’ve been ignoring your calls. Life has been a little crazy.” She said into the phone.

zara would never understand how, in a city as large as new york, she could somehow continue running into the same person she was trying to avoid. she’s almost positive she’s safe now though, he hadn’t spotted her so all was well. as soon as she noticed the others stomach, zara took a step back not wanting to crowd her too much. “no i guess you’re not,” she said as she chuckled. “but you’ve got to be getting something here. either way it’s on me.”

Eden couldn’t wait to dig into the plate of cheesy goodness, she felt like she was waiting for her order far longer than she needed to be, so a distraction was good for the brunette. “Well, thanks.” She said turning to look at the girl. “Have you ever had the nachos at this place? Because their killer.”

“I’m not really sure what I want for a theme.” She said honestly. She was sure Mason already had  his room for their daughter all planned out. She raised an eyebrow looking over to him. “Well? What are you thinking for her room at your place?” She asked softly.

“I agree.” Parker said with a shake of her head. ”It’s such a shame because people can really just decide to not be an asshole.” She laughed. “Oh wow, they work you pretty late, huh?” She asked, her head tilting. “Hey, I know it’s none of my business but are you walking far? If you’re up for it could walk you home? I know you don’t know me well but I just thought I’d offer.” Parker said. She hated the thought of this pregnant woman walking home in the dark.

“True. Honestly? I’ve been an asshole in the past, turns out you get further in life when you’re not an asshole.” She mentioned. “I mean, sometimes. I’m the assistant manager there, so when things go wrong, I tend to stick around. I don’t want to leave the rest of the staff hanging.” She told the other. She loved working at Destino’s, but sometimes it was a bit on the stressful side. “Oh -- uh yeah. I’m not going all too far if you want to walk with me.”

Eden wasn’t sure she’d ever get used to the idea of creating a nursery for her future child. There was something bizarre about her becoming a parent, she was sure she wouldn’t get used to it until the baby was born. “Maybe a pastel purple would be the right way to go.” Eden agreed, setting down the darker swatches and reaching for pastely purple ones. “Really? Darker on the wall? I would have never guessed that.”

“This is why I never agree to blind dates.” Eden said honesty, asking a nearby server to grab her a water. She smiled over at Tee, “Though, people who don’t show up for their blind dates truly don’t know what their missing out on.” She said. Eden ran her fingers through her dark hair, “You know, if you give Ron your piece of mind, shes going to try and set you up again. It is just like her to do that.” Eden said about her best friedn.

“Most people are dicks,” Eden corrected the other. People didn’t usually care about anyone but themselves, there was a time in Eden’s own life that she had been there. “you can say that again. I love Destino’s pizza and I take one home more often that I should.” She saidd with a laugh. “Yeah, I just got out of my shift.” She stayed later than anticipated, but that was what happened when a problem arised and you were the manager. That meant she got to walk home in the dark.

“You know, sometimes I question why we’re friends and then you say shit like that and I remember exactly why.” Eden said, letting out a laugh. It had been far too long since the brunette hung out with her blonde friend. Maybe it hadn’t been all that long, but they had been living together previously, so to go from that to not seeing her every day was rough. “Girl, I’ve missed you too.” She told her. “I’m moving out of Aaron’s place soon, and I found out the gender of the baby. Tell me, whats new with you?”

“School has been crazy and my dad has a couple of people who might be heading to the super bowl so he has been traveling and showing me how to get the best contract, which again not doing,” she smiled as she down at Eden’s stomach. “How are you feeling? How is the baby doing?” Alexis was happy for the girl. It may have not been the ideal situation for all this, but it was still exciting to see this. “I do like the light one. What are you doing for the room?”

“I feel that. School has really been kicking my ass this semester.” Eden mentioned, but then again the brunette was pregnant and in med school. Something she wasn’t ever expecting to happen. Eden shrugged, “The baby is good. We just had an ultrasound not too long ago. We found out it’s a girl, but they said the baby is healthy.” She told her. “I’m not too sure what I’m going with for the room, but I just like purple.”

Mason was the last person she planned on bumping into at the hardware store. Nor was she really all too interested in his opinion on how she should decorate the babies room in her apartment. He had his own apartment and he’d be decorating the room there for their daughter. She looked down at the two swatches in her hand again, even though they were both purple she wasn’t sure that they complimented each other all too well. “Yeah, I guess I could. But, I feel like this purple is too bright to go with that shade.”
