Rivalry.
< Jaehyun x female reader >
Never say never, because limits, like fears, are often just an illusion and so was your dislike towards him.
Part II - Won't hesitate.
Finally, second part is here. Sorry it took me forever but I was definitely not happy with what I had for this part until now. I hope you like it as much as I did when writing it.

The sun's first rays began to pierce through the curtains of your penthouse, casting a warm glow across your elegant living room. You had managed to get a few hours of restless sleep, your mind still racing with thoughts of Jaehyun and your unexpected encounter. As you prepared for the day ahead, you couldn't help but replay the events of the previous night over and over in your head.
You stood before your bathroom mirror, your reflection showing a mix of emotions. Regret, confusion, and a hint of desire. You couldn't deny that there had been a powerful connection between you and Jaehyun, one that had ignited in a whirlwind of passion. But you also knew that your rivalry at work was far from over, and this newfound... relationship? Affection? You weren't even sure what to call it, had the potential to complicate things further.
With a sigh, you turned away from your reflection and focused on getting ready for the day. Each brush of your makeup and every choice of your outfit felt like an attempt to regain your composure. Your phone buzzed with messages and notifications, reminders of the responsibilities that awaited you at Starlight Entertainment. You knew you couldn't let your personal life interfere with your professional one, especially not on a day as critical as today. Starlight Entertainment was about to embark on a collaboration with its sister company, and the meeting that awaited you had the potential to shape the future of your career.
With determination, you headed to the meeting, pushing aside the memories of your night together. But as you entered the boardroom, you couldn't help but feel a rush of nerves. Levi Ackerman, the CEO of the company, sat at the head of the table, his stern expression giving nothing away. You took your seat and tried to focus on the meeting's agenda.
The door opened, and in walked Jaehyun, Vice President of Moonlight Entertainment. All eyes turned to the newcomer, and your heart skipped a beat as you recognized him. Your encounter with Jaehyun last night had been passionate, unexpected, and left you with a whirlwind of emotions. Now, facing him in the same room, you couldn't help but feel a mixture of desire and apprehension.
Jaehyun took a seat across from you, his gaze briefly locking with yours. You quickly averted your eyes, unable to hold his intense stare. The tension between you was palpable.
As the meeting progressed, you did your best to avoid Jaehyun's gaze. You focused intently on your notes and contributions to the discussion, determined not to let your discomfort show. The last thing you needed was for Jaehyun to suspect that something was amiss.
On the other side of the table, Jaehyun couldn't help but steal glances in your direction. He had heard about the collaboration between your companies and had expected the meeting to be a straightforward business affair. However, the presence of the woman who had shared a passionate night with him had added an unexpected layer of complexity to the situation. He couldn't help but wonder if your shared secret weighed on you as heavily as it did on him.
As the meeting concluded, you were quick to gather your belongings and make your exit from the boardroom. You didn't want to linger any longer than necessary. You could feel Jaehyun's presence behind you, following you as you walked briskly through the corridor. His footsteps echoed in the quiet hallway, and you couldn't ignore the inevitable confrontation any longer.
Jaehyun finally caught up with you, and he gently touched your arm to get her attention. "Y/N, can we talk for a moment?" he asked, his voice tinged with a mixture of hesitation and determination.
You stopped in your tracks, your heart pounding in your chest. You turned to face Jaehyun but kept your gaze fixed on a spot on the wall behind him, avoiding direct eye contact. "What is it, Jaehyun?" Your tone was cool and composed, betraying none of the emotions swirling within you.
Flashing a sly smile Jaehyun spoke up, "I have to say, last night was quite the surprise." He grinned, clearly enjoying the discomfort he was causing you.
Your jaw tightened slightly, and you continued walking, your eyes focused straight ahead. "Jaehyun, can we not talk about this right now?" Your tone was firm, a clear signal that you wanted to move on.
Jaehyun, undeterred, matched your pace and persisted. "Come on, Y/N," he continued with a mischievous glint in his eye. "Don't pretend like nothing happened between us. "It was a fun night, wasn't it?".
You let out an exasperated sigh. "No, it wasn't. It was a mistake, and it won't happen again Let's just forget it ever happened."
His teasing smile didn't waver. "Oh, I don't think I can forget something like that so easily."
You stopped abruptly and turned to face him, your patience wearing thin. "Jaehyun, I mean it. We have work to do, and I don't want this hanging over us. Can we please just move on?"
"Well, that's too bad. I was hoping we could have some more fun together. But don't worry, I won't tell anyone. Your reputation is safe with me." He said, with a smirk on his face.
You felt a mixture of anger and embarrassment wash over you. You couldn't believe that you had let yourself get caught up in Jaehyun's games.
He spoke up again, his tone lightening. "Fine, Y/N. But don't think I won't remind you of it when you least expect it."
With that, Jaehyun walked away, leaving you slightly flustered and determined to put your shared indiscretion behind you.

Days had passed, and you'd made a conscious effort to avoid any direct contact with Jaehyun. It had become a strategic game of avoidance. You'd communicated your intentions to your assistants, making it clear that unless it was a matter of utmost importance, you were not to be disturbed. Your professional life had to take precedence over whatever had transpired between you and Jaehyun.
During this time, you relied heavily on your assistant to handle any necessary interactions with him. Whether it was passing along information, scheduling meetings, or relaying messages, your assistant had become the intermediary. This distance gave you a semblance of control over the situation, allowing you to focus on your work without the distractions and complications Jaehyun's presence brought.
You were sitting at your desk, typing furiously on your computer, trying to meet a deadline. Suddenly, your assistant burst into the room, interrupting your concentration.
"Y/N, I'm so sorry to bother you, but I have an urgent message from Mr. Ackerman's assistant," your assistant said, looking flustered.
You sighed, annoyed at the interruption. "Didn't I ask not to be interrupted unless it's an emergency?"
"I know, I'm sorry, but this seems important. Mr. Ackerman himself has requested to speak with you," your assistant explained.
Your demeanor changed instantly. You knew better than to keep the CEO of Starlight Entertainment, Levi Ackerman, waiting. "Thank you for letting me know. Please patch me through to Mr. Ackerman's assistant."
As you waited for the call to connect, you couldn't help but feel a sense of apprehension. The call connected, and Mr. Ackerman's assistant, a man named Joon, relayed the message that Mr. Ackerman wanted to meet with you to discuss the collaboration between you have been hardly working on.
"Thank you, Joon. Please let Mr. Ackerman know that I will be there on time," you replied, trying to keep your tone professional.
"Of course, Ms. Y/L/N" Joon replied before ending the call.
You took a deep breath and gathered your thoughts. You knew that this meeting would be crucial for the success of the collaboration, and you couldn't afford to mess it up. As you left your office, you couldn't help but wonder what Mr. Ackerman wanted to discuss with you.

As you made your way to Levi's office, a rush of memories from your brief fling seven years ago flooded your mind. Back then, you were a young and wide-eyed assistant to one of the directors, while Levi had already gained a reputation as the charismatic and attractive VP. Fate had thrown you together at a quaint coffee shop near your office, and from the moment your eyes met, an undeniable chemistry sizzled between you two. Those stolen moments, the passionate nights you shared, they were all vivid in your memory. But it was only later, as you both delved deeper into each other's lives, that you discovered the twist of fate – you were working together all along, completely unaware of each other's professional roles. The realization hit like a cold shower, and with a mutual understanding, you both knew it was time to call it quits.
When you arrived, Joon greeted you warmly and showed you into the office. Levi was sitting behind his desk, flipping through a report.
"Y/N, it's good to see you," he said with a smile, standing up to greet you. "Please, have a seat."
"It's good to see you too, Levi," you replied, trying to keep your composure.
You chatted for a bit about the report and the joint work with the sister company, and you were pleased to hear that everything was going smoothly.
After a moment of silence, Levi spoke up. "So, I heard about your little run-in with Jaehyung a few days ago. Is everything alright between you two?"
Your heart skipped a beat at the mention of Jaehyung's name. "Yes, everything's fine," you replied, trying to sound nonchalant.
Levi raised an eyebrow, clearly not convinced. "Are you sure? Because it sounded like there was some tension there."
You sighed. "It's a long story. Let's just say we don't see eye to eye on some things."
Levi leaned back in his chair, studying you. "Well, it's a good thing you have me to mediate any disagreements, right?"
You rolled your eyes, but couldn't help but smile at his teasing tone. "I don't think that will be necessary, Levi."
Levi chuckled. "Oh, come on, Y/N. We both know I have a way with people. And speaking of which, how's my favorite VP doing?"
You blushed at the mention of your position. "I'm doing well, thank you."
Levi leaned forward, his eyes locked on yours. "You know, I still remember the first time we met. That coffee shop near the office, right?"
Your cheeks grew even redder as you remembered your steamy past. "Yes, I remember," you said, trying to keep your voice steady.
Levi smirked. "We had some good times, didn't we? Although our bad luck was having to work together."
You shifted in your seat, feeling a mixture of desire and frustration. "Yes, we did. But that was a long time ago. We're professionals now, Levi."
Levi chuckled. "Of course, Y/N. Strictly business. But don't forget, there's always room for a little fun outside of work."
With a mischievous glint in his eye, he added, "And I must admit, I'd be willing to make an exception, but only for you."
You tried to ignore the heat rising in your cheeks as you stood up to leave. "Thank you for your time, Levi. I'll make sure to keep that in mind."
As you walked out of his office, you couldn't help but wonder if your past would ever truly be behind you.
Just as you were about to leave, Levi called out to you. "Y/N, wait a minute," he said, his tone suddenly more serious. You turned back to him, your hand still on the doorknob.
"I really rely on you with this project," Levi continued, "Don't disappoint me. I won't hesitate to find someone more suitable if you're not up to the task." His voice had a threatening edge to it, and you could feel a shiver run down your spine.
You knew Levi was a tough boss and didn't take any nonsense from anyone, but the way he said it made you feel like he was testing you. You were determined to show him that you were more than capable of handling anything he threw at you.
"Of course, Levi," you replied calmly, your hand still on the doorknob. "You can count on me to deliver results."
Levi nodded approvingly, a small smirk appearing on his lips. "That's what I like to hear," he said, his tone returning to its teasing, playful nature. "Now go on, I'll see you later."

In the weeks that followed, Jaehyun couldn't resist the temptation to continue teasing you. He saw your attraction as a playful game, one where he could test your limits and see just how far you were willing to go. For you, it was a constant source of frustration.
One day, as you found yourself working late at the office, your dedication to your work outweighing any desire to go home, Jaehyun decided to make an unexpected appearance. The clock had already struck well past midnight, and the office was eerily quiet, save for the soft hum of the fluorescent lights.
Jaehyun, dressed in a stylish suit, strolled into the dimly lit office with his characteristic confident gait. He spotted you hunched over your desk, your focus entirely on your computer screen. A sly smile played on his face as he approached you.
"Y/N," he began, his tone dripping with mischief, "you know, life is full of opportunities for fun and pleasure."
You raised an eyebrow, your eyes fixed on your computer screen. You had learned to tune out his attempts at provocation. "Jaehyun, I'm not interested in your games."
He chuckled softly. "Come on, it's just a bit of harmless competition," he insisted. "Pleasure or falling in love, which one do you think you'll choose?"
You couldn't help but scoff at his words. "Jaehyun, this isn't a competition. And you certainly don't have time for games."
Jaehyun leaned back in his chair, his gaze fixed on you. "Y/N, you're too serious for your own good. Sometimes you need to let loose and enjoy life."
You sighed, a hint of frustration in your voice. "Jaehyun, we work together, and you have no intention of complicating things further. So, please, just focus on your work."
But Jaehyun was persistent. "Come on, Y/N," he said, a playful glint in his eyes. "I know this great little bar not too far from here. Just one drink, it won't hurt."
"You shook your head, steadfast in your resolve to rebuff his advances. "Jaehyun," you quipped with a teasing smile, "you're remarkably persistent for someone with such a wicked reputation, if you catch my drift."
Jaehyun's smirk deepened as he leaned in closer, his voice taking on a sultry tone. "Oh, I catch your drift, Y/N," he purred, alluding to the unforgettable night you had spent together. "But I enjoy a challenge. Perhaps next time, you'll be more inclined to join me."
After a few more minutes of playful banter, Jaehyun finally relented. He leaned back in his chair, a sly smile on his face, and said, "Alright, Y/N, you win this round. I'll let you get back to work."
You couldn't help but roll your eyes, relieved that he was finally leaving. "Good. I have a lot to finish tonight."
As he stood up to leave, Jaehyun couldn't resist one final quip. "You know, Y/N, you're as stubborn as ever. But hey, a little persistence never hurt anyone."
You shook your head, not bothering to respond to his teasing. You knew better than to get drawn into his games. As he walked away, you couldn't help but think that, for Jaehyun, tonight was just one of those nights where he played the role of the charming flirt.
—
Jaehyun had never been one to shy away from pleasure, and he had a long list of admirers who were more than willing to indulge in his company. But tonight, as he sat in a dimly lit bar with a woman named Eunji, his mind kept drifting back to you. Eunji was attractive, no doubt, and she had been more than eager to spend the evening with him. Yet, as the night progressed, he couldn't escape the memories of your shared moments.
As Eunji leaned in closer, her hand tracing a playful path up his thigh, Jaehyun tried to focus on her words. "Jaehyun, you're such an intriguing man," she purred, her voice laced with desire. "I've heard so much about you."
Jaehyun forced a smile, his mind still plagued by thoughts of you. "I'm glad to hear that," he replied, his tone absent-minded.
Eunji's fingers danced along his jawline, trying to capture his attention. "Are you even listening to me?"
Jaehyun blinked, trying to refocus on the woman in front of him. "Sorry, Eunji. My mind is just somewhere else tonight."
Eunji leaned in closer, her lips brushing against his earlobe. "Maybe I can help you forget about whatever's bothering you," she whispered seductively.
But as Eunji's advances grew more intense, Jaehyun couldn't shake the vivid memories of your presence, your fiery spirit, and your shared moments that had left an indelible mark on him.
Eunji slid her hand under the table, her fingers tracing patterns on his thigh. "Jaehyun, let's go somewhere more private," she suggested, her eyes filled with anticipation.
Jaehyun hesitated, his internal struggle evident. He had always been a man who pursued pleasure without reservation, but tonight was different. The memories of you, your resilience, and your unwavering professionalism had stirred something within him that he couldn't ignore.
With a heavy sigh, Jaehyun gently pushed Eunji's hand away and leaned back in his chair. "I'm sorry, Eunji. I can't do this," he admitted, his voice filled with regret.
Eunji's expression shifted from desire to confusion. "What? Why not?"
Jaehyun ran a hand through his hair, struggling to find the right words. "It's not you, Eunji. It's just... there's someone else on my mind."
Eunji's advances at the bar grew more persistent, and she couldn't understand why Jaehyun was resisting. She leaned in closer, her lips brushing against his ear as she whispered, "Jaehyun, you're Jeon Jaehyun, the man who never lets anything stand in his way. What's stopping you now?"
Jaehyun's internal battle raged on, but Eunji's words were tempting, and he found himself giving in to the allure. He nodded and stood up, offering his hand to Eunji. "Let's go to my penthouse," he said, his voice low and filled with desire.
Eunji's eyes sparkled with triumph as she took his hand, and they made their way to the elevator. The anticipation hung heavy in the air as they ascended to Jaehyun's penthouse.
But as soon as they entered the luxurious space, Jaehyun couldn't escape the memories of his night with you. Your presence seemed to linger in every corner of the room, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt.
Eunji wasted no time, pushing him against the wall, her lips hungry for his. But as they kissed, Jaehyun couldn't shake the feeling that he was betraying something more meaningful.
Minutes turned into what felt like hours, and Eunji's advances became increasingly passionate. But just as they were about to take things further, Jaehyun abruptly pulled away, his chest heaving with confusion and regret.
Eunji looked at him, a mix of frustration and humiliation in her eyes. "What's wrong with you, Jaehyun?" she demanded.
Jaehyun struggled to find the words, his internal turmoil consuming him. "I can't do this," he finally admitted, his voice filled with self-disgust.
Eunji's face flushed with anger, and she quickly got dressed, her expression hardening. "You're unbelievable, Jaehyun. You can't just change your mind like this," she said, her voice trembling with anger and embarrassment.
As she headed toward the door, Jaehyun couldn't let her leave feeling humiliated. He reached out and gently grabbed her arm, stopping her. "Wait," he said, his voice softer.
Eunji turned to look at him, her eyes filled with a mixture of emotions. "What do you want?"
Jaehyun hesitated for a moment before saying, "Stay. Let's just talk."
Eunji considered his offer for a moment before sighing and nodding. They spent the rest of the night talking, sharing stories, and even laughing. It was a night that had started with temptation and desire but had ended with a sense of connection that neither of them had expected.
As the sun began to rise, Jaehyun walked Eunji to the door. She turned to him, a passionate look in her eyes, and said, "You're not like other men I've met, Jaehyun. You have a vulnerability that's surprising."
Jaehyun gave her a small, sad smile. "Sometimes, even players have their moments of weakness."
Eunji leaned in and kissed him passionately. When their lips finally parted, she looked into his eyes and said, "You owe me, Jaehyun."
Jaehyun grinned mischievously. "Of course, baby. I owe you a night, and I'll make it unforgettable."
—
As you exited the elevator on your floor, you couldn't shake the sense of unease that had settled over you. Your encounter with Jaehyun had left you feeling both perplexed and strangely vulnerable. You were determined to maintain your composure and continue focusing on your work, but the memory of your shared moments kept resurfacing, refusing to be ignored.
As you walked down the hallway towards your penthouse, your thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the sight of Eunji emerging from Jaehyun's penthouse. Eunji's hair was slightly disheveled, and her clothes were askew, leaving no room for doubt about what had transpired between her and Jaehyun.
Your heart sank as you watched Eunji close the door behind her and start towards the elevator. You couldn't deny the pang of jealousy that surged within you, even though you had been trying to distance yourself from Jaehyun's advances.
Your eyes briefly met, and you offered a polite but distant nod. Eunji, on the other hand, gave you a sly smile, as if she relished the knowledge of the impact she had on Jaehyun's life.
It was a stark reminder that Jaehyun was a man who never shied away from pleasure, and the idea of you being just another name on his long list of admirers stung. You continued down the hallway, your steps heavy with conflicting emotions. You had always been a woman who valued your independence and professionalism, but Jaehyun had managed to disrupt your carefully constructed world in ways you couldn't fully comprehend.
As you entered your penthouse, you couldn't shake the image of Eunji's confident smile and the lingering scent of Jaehyun's penthouse that seemed to cling to her clothes.
Now, as you closed the door behind you and leaned against it, you couldn't help but wonder about the complex web of emotions that had entangled you. Jaehyun had a reputation as a player, and you had always prided yourself on being a strong and independent woman. But something about him, about your shared past, had stirred a longing within you that you couldn't ignore.
With a sigh, you resolved to focus on your work and push aside the distractions that threatened to consume you. Little did you know that your encounter with Jaehyun was just the beginning of a journey that would challenge you in ways you had never imagined.
