not now kitten. daddy's realizing that the scene he invested 1000 words into could be significantly improved but only if he started over from scratch
It's so cool that you're coming up with ideas for your stories all the time! You're writing them all down, right? Y-you're writing something down, right? Oh, haha, then you just remember it all? You, y--
the feminine urge to add trauma to a character the way you add sugar to your coffee (which is a hell of a lot for me btw)
the concept of writing a full outline and never starting on the draft.

The need to obsess over characters that only exist in my head because I'm way to lazy to write about them
"Yay! New episodes of Vox Machina!"
I was then shot 57 times.
nothing worse than searching your notes for the scene you wrote only to realize you had vividly daydreamed it and never wrote it down
The two wolves inside every writer: "this is genuinely the best thing i have ever written. i am gifted. i am changed. this paragraph alone justifies my entire existence on this planet." and then five minutes later, same paragraph: "who wrote this. who allowed this. this reads like a golden retriever trying to describe grief. i need to lie down and reconsider everything." both wolves are always wrong. the paragraph is fine. you need a snack.
I miss the feeling of being excited about my story. not just the writing part but the planning and the half-formed ideas that pop up in the shower and the pinterest phase. I still love it but I don't feel that spark any more :(

LAST LINE TAG (last line you’ve written)
thx sm for the tag @paperplateprose! this is the end of a short story I was writing about two ocs that I’m obsessed with but cannot bring myself to write more than some episodic short stories about:
“ But the one man he called, the one who had stayed close and protected him for years, had vanished into the darkness .”
@write-on-world @write-with-will @that-one-writer-person @writers-bane @tokkibean @spaghetti-number1rated1997
thanks for the tag!
omg i haven't written anything in weeks but this is the last line from my 2nd (and also unnamed) wip:
"There will be a day where her heart wouldn’t do that whenever he entered, but it was not today."
Open tag :)
so what if I decide to change the plot after 40k words. what then
nothing is sadder than a failed baking attempt
so i was daydreaming about my story and having a conversation with myself in my head about something (as one does) then at one point said "this thing works this way in this world, I don't make the rules!" and quickly realized I do in fact make the rules. the thing works this way because I chose to make it work this way, and, actually, I can simply change it if I want to
writing after a long break is basically not remembering the timeline and having to scroll up 17 times to check, suddenly remembering a small detail that is important and end up searching for it for 30 minutes, scrolling up 56 times to make sure everything still makes sense in the story, the urge to give up, and the eventual "I'm just going to let my future self suffer editing this"

How it feels to finally string 5 coherent sentences together after a writing block
