Chronic illness robs you of joy. Instead of having fun things to look forward to, you’re constantly dreading what new symptoms and worsening of already existing symptoms you’re going to have to deal with. You watch everyone live their lives while you remain frozen in time since you got sick. You see people achieve the very things you want. You exist in a body that causes pain always. You fight tooth and nail for doctors to take you seriously. You mourn your old life. You listen to society at large tell that you’re lazy and not doing enough. It’s fucking miserable.
