eheheh, thank you very much for asking. because this IS something i think about quite a bit. 

(folds my hands) so, first thing’s first, it would not be a team led by grant. his leadership skills are exactly zero. for as loud and boisterous as he is, grant is very much a follower. he genuinely works much better if there is someone to provide some sort of structure for him, because he is TERRIBLE at doing it himself. i also think he would function better in, like, a dual team-up rather than an ensemble team, because being a High Chaos Cowboy also means that he would require a lot of attention to keep him on task and to dissuade him from causing too many problems on purpose.

and of course, my go-to for THAT is jason LMAO. i had some thoughts in my head back in, like, july about a team with jason, jean-paul valley, violet paige and grant, with violet and jason both sort of being co-leaders. but this is mostly like, aesthetics to me, and was also a Thought that involved a SLIGHTLY different concept of grant than the one i play currently. 

but even from there, i do genuinely think a team up with jason and grant specifically would be cool, because there are a lot of parallels between them narratively speaking, and jason is patient enough to work with him, whilst also not taking any of his bullshit.

i am ALSO partial to grant working with roy, but that is mostly. because of @lostarrow HGJFHG. but i do think it would genuinely be kind of funny. shan’t elaborate, everyone will just have to read my mind on that. 

god tier to me though is rose, joey, and grant team up. i think they should hunt slade for sport. and i do have Images In My Head of grant and rose working together. or even, like, grant working for addie could be interesting. 

perhaps a little out of left field, but i also think grant and knockout would be a funny team up as well. because they both just do whatever the hell they want and are sexy.

as for function... like i GUESS closest comparison would be suicide squad?? but honestly just, like, fairly standard run of the mill edgy anti-hero type shit idk. like, grant is a mercenary, and he kinda just goes where the money is anyways. not that he would have any ulterior motives or anything, though he IS easily bribed, but cash is his biggest motivator LMAO. the only sort of team i can see him being on that has a goal which ISN’T entirely nebulous (i.e., working with jason would just be... yknow. murking bad guys LMAO) would be him, rose, and joey playing the most dangerous game with their dad. 

anyways i don’t think it was really at all intentional, outside of being a set up for that run having grant reappear, because he basically sets it up so one of slade’s contacts finds his dagger and helmet as a sort of warning that he’s back. so it’s not really, like, a focus on his skillset so much as it is foreshadowing (which, in all honesty, is kind of clever because if they HADN’T put so much focus on grant + daggers, slade recognizing grant’s dagger would not have meant as much).

HOWEVER, it does also work to MY advantage, because i do envision grant as very tactile and more brute force than anything else, and as we all know knives and daggers are a very Up Close And Personal type of weapon. though i do also appreciate that there’s a focus on his skill at throwing them with precision.
