Ah, all my German classes were years ago so I catch only a word here and there, but I have to say this slaps. The evil laughter? *chef’s kiss* Overall it seems that German voice acting for videogames is a work of art from what I’ve gathered.

Isn’t Tyrande scheduled to self-implode on her pwn hatred and hollowed out power pf lunar madness, like, next week?

You are saying it like it’s something bad, some disaster I bestowed upon you, but it isn’t. Nightwish isn’t a bad band. Their cover for the Phantom Of The Opera still slaps and End Of All Hope, which to me is still Lor’themar’s personal soundtrack, remains to be one of my favourite songs ever.

Nightwish is popular and not really innovative, but it’s a solid band that knows its gig and plays it. Not everything that is “popular” or “mainstream” is bad. If they were bad, they would really sell that well, no matter how good the marketing. Besides in my opinion, Nightwish is often a meeting point between people who dislike and like metal.

For a lovable anon. Hi everyone, I am still alive, yes I wrote a list. It’s quarantine, Steven Universe is over, this has waited in the queue for how long, two years? Three years? Something like that. I got dropped out of college (attending to it was the main reason I stopped writing the lists, I just didn’t have time), now there is Covid-19 running rampage through my country, and I don’t know how about your government, but ours isn’t handling well. Anyway, here is a list. Quickly for people who are still reading but aren’t all that familiar with Steven Universe: Gems are sentient science-magical gemstones with a humanoid form, through the original series they are ruled by Thre or four Diamonds, and each kind of a Gem (like Pearls, Sapphires etc.) are archetypes and fill role within their society. What Gems would WoW leaders be?

Anduin: Pink Diamond. He is in charge of the Aliance, he is compassionate, he is “the kid”, he has the power of healing.

Varain: Allow me to make my own Warcraft-Gem lore and propose the existence of Red Diamond: a millitary compassionate materialistic ruler, who was in charge of the Defense of the Homeworld and got shattered. Pink Diamond was then created later from the remnants of him.

The Council of Three Hammers:

Muradin: Bismuth, since he is a builder, assigned to Yellow Diamond. Moira: Rose Quartz of the Pink Diamond, for her healing powers. Falstad: Yellow Diamond’s Lapis Lazuli. Blue tattoos, and flying.

Tyrande: Blue Diamond’s Agate, as Agates seem to be something like priest-warriors.

Mekkatorque: Peridot of Blue Diamond’s court. One of the old Peridots who didn’t need limb enhancers, I suppose.

Velen: Obviously Velen is a Sapphire. I would even say he’d be a White Sapphire in the service of the White Diamond.

Genn: Cymophane of the Yellow Diamond. Cymophane because it shifts colours just like Genn shift’s forms.

Aysa: Pink Diamond’s Zircon. Zircon’s are meant to be the smart ones who deal with logic.

Alleria: White Diamond’s Emerald. Emeralds are hunters.

Turalyon: Alleria’s Pearl. Let’s face it, that’s what he’s there for: He is Alleria’s moral support and supposed to look pretty in places, provide the occassional illumination and entertainment.

Jaina: Aquamarine of the Pink Diamond. As a Kul’Tiran she’s gotta be something with “marine” in the name. Also Aquimarine as seen on the show was kinda magic.

Thrall: Fluorite (Pearl-Agate fusion) serving the Blue Diamond. Hopefully nobody finds out about the fusion bit....

Vol’jin: Malachite of the Blue Diamond. Painly he is poisonous, usually he stands around unless told to do something else.

Garrosh: Ruby, transferred back and forth between White and Yellow Diamond as a present. It was kinda pissing him off until he got shattered.

Baine: Amethyst of the Blue Diamond. Thinky and emotional puncher.

Sylvanas: Originally an Emerald do the White Diamond, got shattered, glued back together by some misfortune of corruption, and now she is back in the system doing... Something?

Lor'themar: Yellow Diamond’s Jasper. He is meant to punch stuff. He is for some reason overseeing a colony.

Gallywix: White Diamond’s Morganite, responsible for transportation and economy. Probably.

Ji: White Diamond’s Topaz. In fact he is four Topazes in a fusion. Strong and punchy.

Thalyssra: Moonstone, because it seems somewhere between Aquamarine’s magic and Pearl’s grace.

Mayla: White Diamond’s Opal, because Opal to me seems a lot like Agate but more spiritulal.

Geya’rah: Yellow’s Diamond (formerly Red’s) Hessonite. Fighty fighter.

Talanji: Blue Diamond’s Jade - soft and noble, bud decisive.

I knew that ot was supposed to happen, but on the server where I was playing at the time when I was finishing the DK starting quests, this was broken, so I never got to experience it.

Depends mainly on the Pandaren in question, right? Just like people are nervous and scared around other Death Knights.

I don’t think it would be funny, because I can’t imagine Genn accepting this Death Knight and be suspicious of their intents and motives and whatnot.

But along this line, let me pitch a slightly different scene. Let’s give Genn a chamberlain, good king should have a chamberlain. Let’s call this chamberlain... hmm, Thomas Dreadhowl sounds good, pretty Gilnean, right?

Genn’s employed Thomas after the Cataclysm when he was living more in Stormwind than Darnassus and needed someone to take care of his things while he was helping with the Alliance stuff. Thomas is a good and dedicated man, there whenever Genn needs him. Thomas pull long hours. Thomas makes sure the appointment happens. Thomas wears a lot of cologne and cna patiently wait at attention for hours. Thomas brings polished daggers on silver plate to Princess Tess early in the morning. Thomas serves perfect Earl Grey with a drop of milk.

Thomas is present when Genn gives Anduin yet another lecture on why he should not reach to Bolvar event though the demons are literally raining from the sky, and that the Ebon Blade is not helping them, because no Death Knight can be trusted.

Thomas asks: “Not even me?”

Pretty much, yeah. But ever since I was playing Warlords of Draenor, I got the strong impression that the new content isn’t made for people who want to know what is going on. They want to smash big things and see pretty (blue) ladies. Those three people who want to know whom did they just hit will get it from the books or Wowpedia. WoD at least appealed to the nostalgia of old Warcraft players...

Side note: All hail Wowpedia. Wowpedia is a great thing.

I personally think that the biggest mistake that Blizz writing team made was that they let us kill the Lich King (Arthas) at the end of WotLK. Because ever since Warcraft 3, the Lich King was THE villain. The great evil unsurpassed. When you let your players kill that, you must raise the stakes higher, above the ceiling that you’ve previously set and which was already pretty high up. And then you raise the stakes higher and higher because that is what you did before, and that’s how you get the end of the Legion, that is how you’re getting the vague absurdity of the Shadowlands. No longer are the stakes high, now it’s the writers who are high. By this precedent WoW is forever bound to have the players searching for a higher more badass threat.

I want to share a lesson that I’ve learned in the year I was playing the Elder Scrolls Online (which got me into the TES lore): As it is also a MMORPG fantasy not entirely unlike WoW with new content still added (new major expansion every year stretched out), it is in the danger of slipping into the Ever-Increasing Stakes boat like WoW. However, ESO keeps the stakes more or less the same across the expansion and it goes practically always like this: Powerhungry bastard decides to rise to the power above all known gods or to get on their level at least, the price is the whole world, starting with the area of the current expansion/base game. It’s worked 5 times at least. The evil is defeated by luck, coincidence, careful planning and a help from high above, creating a cocktail of combinations that you know that you are unable to replicate.

So what I want to say is that maybe we don’t need to get stronger as characters/players in the game. We need to be lucky. To keep things interesting and not absurd.
