Scott walks into Adam’s apartment like he owns the place, flicking his cigarette outside before closing the door behind himself. You would have thought Adam learned his damn lesson by now about leaving that front door unlocked, but maybe the guy really was that much of an idiot. Scott navigates the home like it’s his own, making his way to the bathroom where he finds his best friend on the floor. “You’re actually lying on the fucking floor. I thought you were fucking with me.” Scott sits on the edge of the tub, eyeing his friend. “You gonna sit the fuck up and let me do this or what? You got scissors?”

"lovely to see you too" he replies, giving Scott a silly grin right away. It takes him a few moments and a few dramatically deep sighs to actually get up, making his way to a cabinet to get the scissors. "Here. Are you comfortable here or do you want to move to the kitchen? I'm fine with whatever"

“Don’t be gay.” At this point, Scott had cut Adam’s hair so many times he could practically zone out and do it mindlessly. He didn’t even have to wet it down; he just went in with the scissors and started taking the length away. “Been alright. Playing a lot of gigs. Still working at the record store. Not a lot new going on.” Scott pauses for a moment before speaking again. “Haven’t really been seeing you at shows..” he missed seeing his little groupie but didn’t want to say it out loud.

"what's gay about it?" Adam titled his head up, not caring if it'd mess up the cutting. He just needed to make sure Scott was aware of the confusion painted on his face. He only looked away when Scott mentioned the shows. That was true. And he felt really shitty about it, especially now that the issue was talked out loud. "Been a bit busy... Sorry." Words came out a bit too quiet maybe. But he really didn't want to get into details. With everything that happened after he was tested, revealing that he now worked for his capturer sounded.. like not the best idea. "When's the next show?"

“Too busy with your girlfriend, right?” Scott doesn’t mean to say it. It quips out of him a lot more bitterly than it should have, too. By the time the words have left his lips, he’s regretting it. Quickly, he avoids going further into it. “We’re playing at the bar we frequent tomorrow night. Maybe you can come and take some pictures like you used to?”

Scott huffs and shoves Adam’s head to one side as he stands. “Shut the fuck up, man. Course she likes my music. She’s nice I guess. Her name is Lindsay.” He doesn’t elaborate any further as he stands there, waiting. “Turn around now so I can cut your bangs— and enough about my face. Last I checked you love my face.”

"nice I guess." He mocks him but complies, shifting to now sit facing him, looking up at him with that shit eating smile. But his eyes looked as affectionate as ever, the kind of stuff you know is there if you know what signs to look for. "You're very confident about that. I grew used to it, that's all. Don't read too much into it."

He hesitated for a moment before approaching the mirror. It felt better. It always did. Scott had that weird way of... Knowing what to do. Adam ran his hand through his hair, messing it up a bit more. His shoulders relaxed fully now. "I guess you did like... Okay." He joked before looking at Scott again, giving him a smile. He was too tired with the temperature to actually push it further. "Thanks man. I really appreciate it. Not sure what I'd do without you"

Adam sighs, just following him to the kitchen, watching him as he moves around it freely. "I do have a job." He protested, taking the cigarette from him and taking a drag himself before handing it back to him again. "I just don't have beer. That's different."
