the more i read about this trial, the more angry i get that we are wasting judicial resources on this, and not other types of cases, as you have mentioned. and that this is happening the same week as the rubiales trial is frankly too much.

i also have to mention that every single woman i know (including myself) has a dodgy story about riding in a taxi/uber/whatever with a male driver that has made you feel deeply uncomfortable. and then to have the police officer automatically believe the taxi's version of events...😤

I already thought it was a total waste of time and now I doubly think that.

I feel bad for Sam and Kristie going through something traumatic in that taxi, seemingly being completely dismissed by the police officers at the station, then being punished like this for daring to lash out in frustration at not being believed. I think most women come to know what this feels like at some point.

From what I've read in the transcript of the interaction at the police station, what Sam said when she invoked the police officer's race has in my opinion been taken out of context at every step in the process in order to bring this charge all the way to trial.
