pluto (the celestial body) told me that itβs actually kind of upsetting how much you guys insist on her being a planet. she says it feels like you donβt like her for who she is and youβd prefer an imagined version of her instead. whatβs so terrible about being a dwarf planet, she asked me. does she have to be a βrealβ planet to be worthy of love?
correct.

Imagine you've needed glasses most of your life. And you're a girl dating another girl. This girl is your childhood best friend and the love of your life. She's really lovely and helps you out sometimes when you don't have your glasses on. She's been with you through your transition and means the world to you. One day she dies in a tragic car accident and over the course of the next few days your vision starts getting better. Soon you don't even need your glasses at all. You go through her possessions after the funeral and find a notebook, in which she wrote down a recipe for a "One day blinding stew". suddenly everything clicks into place. She'd been cooking for you *every* night since you were kids. It was always the same thing, she said it was a sensory food restriction thing. You loved her so you accepted it. She never once thought to scale up the recipe to turn it into more than just a one day blinding stew. You miss her so much.

Male socialization is such an evil rhetoric. Yeah I guess not transitioning at the age of 5 is my fault and I'm evil for it. Yeah I guess not having the childhood I wish I did means I'm a danger and I should perpetually apologize for it
i keep getting immensely transmisogynistic replies to this post and i will check the blog and they're a they/them describing themselves as an agender gender goblin and it's so tiring
i saw a couple posts about how straightness in ts fiction is often depicted as gender affirming, "attraction to men makes you more of a girl" and all that, and i agree that that is the mechanism that makes it particularly repulsive, but I think there's another layer to this topic that itches me, which is nigh universality of t4c in ts lesbian fiction. Where you find it, you see the same pattern: a cis woman's attraction to The Girl marks her as a real woman. it reflects and reinforces really unfortunate attitudes i see from tgirl lesbians all the time; it takes it as a given that cis women have an authority on womanhood and lesbianism, and that only they can give us a pass to be let in.
bears repeating that twerfs are misogynists
being loudly and confidently wrong, shouting us down, speaking over us, belittling our femininity, making horrible and invasive comments about our bodies. they are privileged women weaponizing misogyny against a marginalized group of women
you can tell we are socially classed as women, too, because comparing us to men and painting us as masculine binds rather than privileges us
telling us that no one will ever want us, that everyone who says they find us attractive is either being nice or has a fetish, calling our vaginas festering, gaping, foul-smelling wounds, saying our breasts are fake, spreading disinformation about how our bodies work, minimizing our oppression or denying that we are oppressed, calling us delusional and mentally ill, making a spectacle of how ugly and unattractive they think we are, treating us worse the further we stray from their standard of femininity, shouting us down when we speak up about being sexually abused, protecting our abusers, sexualizing us while punishing us for owning our own sexualities
oh right, how could I forget attempting to control our bodies, up to and including lobbying against our rights to make our own decisions about them
and it's not just that their treatment of us is misogynistic, it's that misogynistic rhetoric against us works, and is a core part of how our oppression is justified. transmisogyny is in fact misogyny, funnily enough
sorry wait I guess it's not misogyny because trans women are "male socialized" or something, and a ~real~ woman with ~female socialization~ could never be a virulent misogynist
I think the secret is that the notion of socialization is vastly overestimated as the cause for a lot of people's treatment of others
a person's treatment of the marginalized is a function of a society that enables and rewards abusing them, to the point that cisgender women themselves can become some of the most virulent misogynists as long as there's a class of women against whom it's ok to wield misogyny
I would actually say, the concept of socialization around gender has always included the fact that women are also bei g socialized to be misogynistic. That is very much part of female socialization under patriarchy and capitalism, the issue here is again that people read some words without the actual theory behind them and just reproduce what they think these words mean. Sexism is upheld by women and others as well as by men, thatβs why it doesnβt matter how you identify, there is no one who is free of perpetuating misogyny and pretending that you are is just the refusal of accountability in favor of staying in this system.

what a wild fucking thing to say about fucking "femboy" art emphasizing a characters penis to show they are "biologically male" even with obvious signs of feminizing hrt.
and the fucking treatment of nonbinary as mutually exclusive with transfems as fucking usual
is it fucking "bioessentialism" to look at art that clearly eroticizes puffy nipples and limp small penis on a character who will be referred to with feminine terms while being categorized as ultimately male and saying the character is obviously a fucking trans woman?
personally i think the real bioessentialism with regards to this kind of art is how the penis is used as an indication of unchangeable maleness no matter how much evidence the character is on estrogen or how much the character is portrayed enjoying being referred to with female terms. but what do i fucking know. i havent considered the feelings of men enough i guess
