worked with comrade m this afternoon to solidify his fetch since it’s basically the only thing he’s good at and likes doing and it went soooooo good

only took a couple rounds with a reward for giving me the ball to get him to consistently return it to my hand every time. probably the fastest he’s ever picked up anything but it’s understandable as a tiny tennis ball is involved and he can do anything if it involves a tiny tennis ball

once we’ve got the retrieve and return solidified, we can hopefully start working on him waiting for a release to go retrieve which fits in nicely with all the impulse control training we’ve been doing

my dream of getting an AKC fetch title. or just. any title on this dog lives on

one of the cons of being on facebook to follow dog breeders is that occasionally i’m jumpscared by suggested posts about merle frenchies

#where’d that merle come from hmm!!!!!!#frenchies in general are a jumpscare at this point #merle #dogbook #to be clear i don’t follow anyone who breeds frenchies #facebook just assumes i’m interested for some reason and recommends these posts to me #could be worse i suppose. could be fluffy frenchie litter announcements #i’m indifferent to frenchies but god. the things they’re doing to this breed……tragic #dogblr

please……a borderpap/pap would be so ideal 🥺

i’m already heavily leaning toward a borderpap for my next dog (next year maybe, 2028 more likely) but i’m not opposed to a borderpap/pap because the size is just even more ideal with my existing tiny dogs

like. in my dreams, i own a border collie who is just exceptionally good with the tiny dogs but i’m also paranoid about the Dangers should anything go wrong. but i love the border collie temperament and drive and i long to do dog sports so a borderpap feels like a good alternative to hopefully achieve that border collie drive but in a slightly smaller package

i guess a borderpap/pap might be less likely to have those border collie traits but i mean. papillons can also be fun little sport dogs so i think it would still be workable with some adjustments to training if necessary???

#i sort of know what i’m talking about i think maybe?#none of this matters for these two puppies tho bc i am not ready for another dog #the tiny dogs need to be in a much better place with their training first #but oughhhhhh they’re so cute #one day i’ll live my dream of owning a dog i can do sports with
