//Ok so quick schedule update, but from here on out, I won’t be online doing replies after 7:30-8:00 CST (depending on when my sis goes to work) or before 8pm CST with my nightly cap on things being 11pm CST. I might go around liking, lurking and reblogging ooc stuff but with how my work and homeschedule is going, I’m going to be occupied between the hours of 8am-4pm or 8am-8pm. Which means I will begin queuing my replies again and only doing like, 1 or 2 rp responses a day (if that).

Something that’s come up several times recently has been writer’s dissatisfaction with their characters and the changes they’ve made or that their character isn’t “liked enough.” This quandary really bothered me until my sister brought up an interview between the Game Grumps and the creator of Rick and Morty.

He was asked if he was surprised that people liked Rick and Morty and he told them no bc he was the show’s first fan.

That concept — the concept of being your creation’s first fan— is so important it’s almost beyond words. Because when you’re a fan of something, you love it and when you love something you’ll talk about it, theorize about it, write about it, draw about it, fangirl/boy over it and make it grow.

That is the creator’s most important task: rooting your story in love. Not making love the theme of your story, but giving it a foundation of confidence you can only get when you root you’re creation’s value in how much love YOU have for it. If you love your creation, it doesn’t matter what other people think. You love what you love and them not liking it has nothing on how much you do like it.

And the more you love your creation, the more you want to create things for it. The more you create, the more things people will see of your creation. The more people see, the more likely they’ll become fans and want to interact with the wonderful thing you’ve created.

Granted, there will be times, sometimes very long period of times, when no one will show interest and it will only be you and maybe a handful of other people who know or care about your character/creation. Those times are going to be hard to deal with, but don’t give up! Be patient, breathe, and focus your energy on building your character and their story, putting out promos, and getting advice on how to do things better or make your blog more appealing. Things will be ok! Just keep going, you’ve got this!

Oliver rested his chin on his hand and looked over at his friend. 

“I don’t know,” he remarked, taking a moment to stretch. “Pearl White sounds like a novelist name or the code name for a secret agent.” He then paused and gave his fellow theater kid a mischievous smile. “Although, from the sound of it, it does seem like you were born for Girl number 4.~”

“Oh, please,” Pearl grumbled. She did so good naturedly, adjusting her costume by the curtain and refusing to risk her composure by looking her companion in the face. 

Oliver huffed and straightened his shirt. Oh well, he deserved that bait for his jab but he wasn’t going to play into it. Not after they’d just saved their school theater program from being shut down. Petitions were grand things when everyone was playing lead role.

If you see weird pics of ladies with dubious links posted on your blog out of the blue, here’s a step by step way of stopping this and preventing it from happening again that I think might work.

Important : this only works if you can still access your blog!

Changing your password is important, but it won’t do you any good if your hacker still has an opened session on your blog and can still access it. So the first thing you wanna do is close your hacker’s session.

For that you need to go in your blog’s settings:

On the new page opened, scroll all the way down. There, you can see something called “Active Sessions“. The first and oldest one (”current session” in green) should be yours, the new one should be the hacker’s session. To close your hacker’s session, click the gray X next to it.

Now that their session is closed, they can’t access your blog anymore unless they enter the password again.

So don’t lose time, go all the way back up and change your password immediately. Make also sure your hacker didn’t change your email address.

Now you should be safe from your hacker. But it won’t prevent you from getting hacked again.

If you really want to be safe from hackers, you should turn on the “Two-factor authentification” option (on the same page).

It requires you to enter your phone number, which is a bummer. But if it’s turned on, everytime you wanna log on (so not if your session is already opened, but only if you log off and try to log on again), it will send a code on your phone that you’ll have to enter (in addition to having a password).

That way if someone tries to hack you again, even if they get your password right, they won’t be able to enter your blog without having that code.
