Mortal enemies “with benefits” was not exactly the plan.

Or: The one where Louis and Harry definitely aren’t friends, and football is everything.

Comment: Lately I’ve found that I didn’t like too much smut in a fic. Like, I love a few good scenes of it, but it I wanted porn without plot I’d search for PWPs and not for multi-chaptered works. This fic is an exception.

You see, it’s 136K of smut. With plot on the side. The thing is, the smut is part of the plot, so it’s great to have to much of it. I loved it.

Plus, I’m a sucker for highschool AUs, and for secret relationships, and for football, and this fic has all three of those. So, that’s a great bonus.

Definitely going to read it again someday!

Comment: This is so beautiful, I swear. Brought to us by the same author who wrote this lovely story, it is indeed as original and as wonderful as her first fic. The morning I woke up to find an e-mail telling me she uploaded another story was a very happy one for me.

The author has this special writing that just fits angst, and the story draws the reader in so much. I did expect a part of the ending, but it was still very surprising!

You may know or may not know, but Camp NaNoWriMo is coming up, starting on July 1st. Last time I paticipated, I wasn’t prepared and I ended up failing. So to be more prepard this time, I wanna know what I’m gonna write before it starts. I managed to narrow my list (it has over 30 ideas, I swear) down to 3 ideas, and if you could read them and tell me which one you think is best it would be great!

So here we go;

1. Against all Odds - a Hunger Games AU:

Louis Tomlinson from district 5 wins the 56th Hunger Games. Three years later, he’s still struggling to get out of the trauma. Having to mentor the 59th Games’ tributes, he thinks things can’t get any worse. He finds out he is wrong when his boyfriend of two years, Harry Styles, is being sent to the Games this year.

Helping Harry in the Games is a hard task, even harder when Louis realizes it was no coincidence that his boyfriend’s name was being called, and that the Capitol has a lot to gain from the death of the most loved winner’s boyfriend.

2. Hello Darkness (My Old Friend) - a sequel to this story:

About a year after coming to terms with the fact that Louis was not real, Harry finally feels ready to leave his home and go to uni. The move the Manchester is hard for the boy who’s never left home for more than a few days, and the fact that Niall is in London does not help much. But Harry is okay, even if sometimes he still wakes up crying over the “loss” of his first love.

Harry’s entire life seem to crumble around him when he spots a guy who looks just like Louis around campus. A guy who claims to be Louis Tomlinson. But that’s not possible, because Harry has made Louis up in his head when he was 5 years old. Not being able to stay away, he gets closer and closer to this Louis, drifting away from Niall. But this real Louis is nothing like Harry’s Louis, and Harry learns that soon enough.

3. Saving Mu - an AU based on the MMORPG Mu Online:

Kundun, the strongest demon the world has ever seen, is sending his monsters to destroy the Land of Mu. An ancient prophecy states that a Muse-Elf, a Soul Master and a human Knight will come together to save the continent. When the time comes, the Priestess of the Archangel anounces the chosen three: Louis from the house of Tomlinson - a mighty Elf who has proven himself worthy; Zayn Javadd Malik - the youngest wizard to reach the level of a Soul Master; and Harry Styles - a clumsy 19 years old waiter from Lorencia who’s never seen anything close to a monster.

Now it’s up to Louis and Zayn to shape Harry into the greatest warrior of all times and find a way, together, to eliminate Kundun.

Comment: After reading Landslide I just couldn’t seem to read anything else. It was so good I needed something that reminds me of it so I can get out ot the obsession I got into. So a cowboy!Harry sounded close enough for me.

And what a great choice it turned out to be!

First, it was kind of nice to have only one gay couple in a fic. I’m getting tired of all the everyone-around-us-is-gay stories.

Second, the plot was great and the writing was amazing. And who cares if they fall in love too fast? As this lovely post reminded us, they did fall in love that quickly in real life.

Umm... really not much to say that I haven’t said about so many other fics. I really, really liked it. Go give it a try, you won’t regret it!

Comment: Will you look at that? A story that isn’t Zarah’s!

Alright. Okay. I need to find where to start. There are so many things to say about this.

The plot! The plot of this amazing piece of work is something SO out of the ordinary. This is something I’ve never expected to read, and I was so surprised by it with every new chapter. Like, when I thought that I couldn’t be surprised again - boom! I’m wrong. Kudos to that.

The writing: These two authors managed to fascinate me with their writing skills. So good. I can’t think of many authors who can make me read a 100K+ work in one day.

Also, the characters: so much character depths! It’s like each and every character in this story was thought through, like the authors knew their entire past even though they didn’t share it with us. Every once in a while they reveal a new little detail about someone that will change the entire way the reader sees them, and that’s wonderful.

All in all, this was a great, GREAT fanfic and I really think everyone in the fandom should read that.

Title: Life At Shutter Speed

Say, a private photo session? Yes, please? Good thing that Harry has ten days and three beautiful locations -- Morocco, Indonesia and the Swiss Alps -- to make Louis see just how good they could be.

Comment: *blushes* This has to be, what? The fifth story of this author I recommend? The sixth, maybe? She is just so talented and I love all her stories and someday I’ll be able to but her book. Someday. When I’m not a soldier who gets paid 145$ a month.

To the story: this is another well written AU, I like Zarah’s writing so, so much. I’m getting out of words already when it comes to her, since I said it all already. Loved it so much and can’t wait to read more from her.

This one was great for me, seeing it has a footie!Louis and I’m a huge football fan. So combining 1D with football? Yes, please! Also, there were some great football jokes I’ve never heard before.

Comment: Zarah is one of my favorite authors, really (going to read another story of hers right when I’m done with this rec and the next one). She writes so well, drawing the reader so much into the story that you don’t want it to end. Ever.

This fanfic is no exception. Cute, fun, flowing. I liked it so, so much!

Destiny, romance, mistaken identity, sexcapades and oblivious!everybody abound in this gross bastardization of one of my all time favourite fairy tales.

Comment: I know I said it might take some time for me to recommend another fic of this author, but then I was kind of really in the mood for this one? So I read it and it was PRECIOUS.

Okay, imagine this: a soldier (not a high rank but high enough for people to know she’s about to finish her military service), sitting on the bus, headphones tucked into her ears, her eyes focused on the iPhone’s screen. And then she starts laughing. Loudly. Ridiculous, really.

That was me. I was holding myself so much but I just couldn;t stop laughing. Great, great thing!

Disney!AUs are super-duper-awesome apparently!

Great writing again, really nice plot, interesting way of putting everything together. I liked it a lot.

I finally decided to stop being lazy and created a personal blog, so from now on this blog is going to be fanfiction recommendations only (like it was meant to be).
