We can be transfixed on a person, yes… but there is more than that; there is being transfixed on yourself in their place. This is what the rawest and most spectacular of inspirations feel like. If you watch what they do, and feel it– in your bones, in your gut– then take it as a sign that this is your future self trying to itch its way out of your body. It’s telling you: your instincts are right. What you feel, deeper than your heart ever possessed– is real. And it’s out there, waiting for you.

You give him the love you’ve been dying to receive. You give him the words you constructed and carefully crafted your whole life for yourself just to make him feel the warm breeze of your embrace. You give him the air left inside your lungs even if you know you cannot get enough of it beneath the crowded walls to support your own life. But that’s how you know you love someone—you give them everything you’ve always been dying to have.

Have you ever platonically fallen for someone? For the things they say and how they can always cheer you up, no matter the circumstances? For how you can count on them and the way they get so enthusiastic about the things they love? Have you ever watched someone without them noticing and just felt your heart burst of love for everything they do and everything they are, feeling incredibly proud to have them as a friend? Have you ever been in awe due to the feeling of being blessed by the sheer existence of another human being?

if love is poison, god, let it pour from her lips into mine, and let me come alive for at least a moment before death embraces us.
