Overcast and gray

The sunless sky sparks within me

How petty of you

Because you simply lack claws

Oil on canvas

Unadulterated sky

That yellow staining

Brought on by decades of use

Far have I traveled

To find this babbling brook

Tired, my eyes droop

With work sprawled out before me

Hopelessly reaching

Fruitless, my lips never form

I see it in your eyes

Feel it in your touch

Smell it throughout the air

Yet you hold it from your lips;

A moments pause,

And a different poison you choose

Though I know which you prefer

And like a statue I sit there

Wishing you could take the plunge

Leaving me with some excuse

Enjoying breakfast

The beauty of a day off

The afternoon wind

Billowing past, gently

An annoying gnat,

Hidden from my lazy gaze

Seems ever present

Though it causes me no grief,

While I should be free

From the worries of this world

In order to sin

The use of a dead man's knife

I wait patiently

Fearful, dreading the answer

With such a design

Don't you think it natural

Oh woe be the day,

And that it never come I pray,

When our florescent bulbs below

Wisk poor Diana away.

For now she sits there all alone

A fate which I bemoan

For what good is a huntress

Fate spread before

My heart sinks beneath the weight
