Everybody isn’t going to love you. Most people don’t even love themselves.

You are going to be so much more than ‘enough’ for someone someday.

How you make others feel about themselves says a lot about you.

You have no idea how hard it is to pretend all the time.

I have been told, sometimes, the most healing thing to do is remind ourselves over and over and over: Other people feel this too.

Compassion hurts. When you feel connected to everything, you also feel responsible for everything. And you cannot turn away.

We get surprised when we are treated respectfully, as if it is an act that’s out of the blue and not expected. Don’t you see how sad this world has become.

Not for the first time, I sensed that those who know love and those who enjoy life are not the same people.
