At the first moment that things settled down, a few days after Steppenwolf was defeated, Diana sought Arthur out. She had hoped to bond. Out of all their so-called teammates, he was the one that she was completely certain would live a longer than human life. It would be nice to know someone she wouldn’t have to say goodbye to in a few short decades. Yet, sidling up beside him, Diana frowned, noting that he seemed to be on the verge of going somewhere, ready to leave.

“Are you returning to Atlantis so soon Arthur?” She understood if he had responsibilities there and wouldn’t keep him if so, yet, “You must come back soon. Bruce and I are working on a headquarters, in the event that we must come together once more. I would love to get your input on it.” An easy excuse to have him around more often. She trusted the younger boys to linger, had already built up a rapport with Bruce, and knew where to find Clark. That left Arthur. “I feel like we barely know one another. It would be prudent to get to know one another better before the next crisis.”

Lips quirking into a smile, Diana continued, “Perhaps you can visit Themyscira with me. You’ll like it. It’s surrounded by water.” She had to return shortly, had to check in on her mother, her sisters. Steppenwolf’s comment about their blood still wet on his axe rang in her ears. “We can foster trade between our people, perhaps.” She didn’t know his role with the Atlesians, given how quiet he’d kept about them, but it was an open offer nonetheless.

(remember that scene in wonder woman where she’s like ‘A BABY!!!’? yeah, well, when the world isn’t on the verge of collapse and she’s allowed to settle down and get to know the team better, that’s totally her inner monologue around barry)

The trip to New York was supposed to be to examine an ancient Greek painting for authenticity. It was not supposed to involve interrupting crimes in progress. Something for Diana Prince, not for Wonder Woman. Yet, how was she supposed to ignore a problem when it made itself so very obvious?

She doesn’t know the extent of the situation, but she knows that the man should not be cornering the woman in a dark alleyway, knife in hand, looking up to no good. She intervened, grabbed the man’s wrist and twisted until he was yelping and dropping the weapon, fierce scowl on her face. “Leave.” The would be mugger did not need to be told twice, not even bothering to try to pick up his knife before bolting out of the alley. Giving a disgusted scoff, she kicked the weapon away, turning her attention to the woman.

The woman was...calm. Surprisingly calm, for the situation she had found herself in. Usually, those she saved were weepy or babbling nervously, fair reactions. Diana admired the strength of spirit shown by the blonde, but it had to have come from somewhere. “Is this not your first time in danger?” Was this city even worse than Gotham’s crime rate? There had been a rather ferocious expression on her face before Diana’s intervention, so perhaps she hadn’t needed the help at all. “I apologize if you had things well in hand.”
