House Targaryen was a noble family of Valyrian descent who once ruled the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Due to their mastery of dragons, and thus sorcery, they had no real opposition to contend with. Using dragon-fire and magic, they built their grand capital city of Valyria, which was unmatched in quality in the east. However it wasn’t until King Aegon I ascended the thrown that he decided to conquer all of Westeros with his sister-wives Rhaenys and Visenya. Using the last three last living dragons of the world, they first flew over the continent and mapped it on Dragonstone in the Painted Table, which was engulfed in war between seven dynasties.
