This is an Apple designer, up on stage at WWDC 2017, telling people not to use Android icons in their iOS app designs. Who would do such a thing? Believe me, they do— and in the name of making their app “unique and different.”

Two questions that UI and UX designers should be asking themselves every moment of every day: 1) “Does this aspect of my design add engineering burden? If so, how much?” (ask an actual engineer if you don’t know for sure) and 2) “Does this aspect of my design put me closer to or farther away from and Apple Design Award?”
