Lair of the Wolfkitten

One, the movie is shot in this hyper-real microdosed style that they use for deep, exclusively culty NewAge videos on, like, the music made by the mushrooms growing on a decomposing copy of a book your brother wrote (no diss to Cosmo Sheldrake, that shit is actually amazing. But it made a good bad example).

Two, it's about aliens. But not greys or little green men. More like deeply sentient forest creatures and preternatural children; only, not really creepy; more just a sacred uncanny valley thing. Whatever.

Two and a half, they intercut clips of this intentionally headfucky movie with little interview segments where Speilberg is talking about how cool it is. How he thinks it will actually bring joy to people, possibly healing, maybe increase our empathy (then they cut back to the possessed newslady or some shit).

Three, by the time Herne the Hunter has manifested in full King Stag mode in this little girl's bedroom, Speilberg has hit his stride and goes from wouldn't it be cool if aliens were real, to, GUESS WHAT BITCHEZ. Straight up says it. With a twinkly gleam in his eye but we're all in on it, right?

So ok that's pretty cool on one level. And honestly, if the Space Brothers really *do* want to come rescue those of us who are trying to evolve from the ones who are all nuh-uh, no more going forwards, fact we're heading backwards now so suck it libtards - yeah I'm fine if that happens, I think. The Space Brothers. Not the going backwards. Obviously.

But more than that. Whether aliens and the Unseelie Court are real isn't as important as you think. What really got to me is that.. movies are our collective myth. It's how we share our dreams with one another. And if ever we needed to dream of a world that those of us *not* infected by orange brain worms could believe in, dare I say even hope for, it's now.

My astro podcasts have been all excited over this good juju coming for us in mid month, when Venus conjuncts Jupiter in Cancer. Know what happens on the last day of this conjunction? This trippy new Steven Speilberg movie drops. Two days before that demented old man turns 80; meaning if we're lucky, people will be going to see this super positive movie about alien intelligence with an extra hit of joy juice from the cosmos instead of paying any damn attention to widdle Donnie's birthday tantrum.
