I miss the musk of the earth being stuck to my skin and it’s unforgettable scent. Petrichor in the air with the rain soon to follow. My paws damp due to the mud. Water droplets resting on my water resistant fur. The crisp clean air that i inhale before i howl to the forest below.

Why does nobody ever talk about the pain of wanted to be seen as equal to human beings, but being too animalistic to never be truly human. As someone who was dehumanized a lot as a kid due to my neurodivergence, I’m still so desperate for that human validation. I’m never going to be human enough to experience that. I’m forever stuck between the boundaries of human and nonhuman. I’m something else.
