It really disgusts me when I see people being fanatical over pedophiles, murderers or rapists, making cutesy fanarts, shipping themselves with them and stuff like that. One could argue I am a hypocrite knowing all the allegations WJC has had over the years involving both of those things and more but, I believe there’s a difference since WJC is way more than that. I don’t glorify that side of him, I am not interested in it that much and it’s not the main reason I’ve grown attached to him, he is a former president of the US and if he weren't one I wouldn't be interested in him, I find his presidency, speeches, his historical importance and that kind of stuff interesting too. The men they obsess over aren’t known for any reason other than that and they are confirmed abusers (not saying Bill's aren't completely true, but there's a difference between accusations and a fact), every other quality they have is completely overshadowed by their crimes so even if they deny any interest in what they did, I can only wonder why they are interested in them in the first place? You aren't trying to understand what they did. You are treating them like fictional characters. I could go on how (from what I've seen) the majority of people who do this are young, impressionable teens, mostly around 12-15, who are in inappropriate spaces and are encouraged by others to continue this kind of behavior and make them believe nothing is wrong with it. Before I finish this, I have to admit I'm guilty of some of this behavior too, but it isn't my main interest. I keep it private, and I believe there is a difference in liking WJC and Jeffrey Epstein. Maybe you could believe I am a hypocrite or I have some kind of mental dissonance but I personally don't think so.
