All in all I think the long walk was a fantastic movie and brilliant adaptation. I have one complaint, and one complaint only. Where is stebbins whimsy. The directors looked at stebbins being described as skinny and wearing purple pants and a blue chambray shirt under a green jumper, while ragebaiting Garraty every time he opens his mouth , and were like "what if he was beige, jacked and silent".

I just think in the movie he takes himself far too seriously for a man that calls himself papa stebbins in the book

i dislike the whole “horror is so back” narrative people are throwing around recently with obsession and backrooms. both are great movies, but horror was also so back with the long walk. and sinners. and the substance. and nosferatu. and literally anything directed by jordan peele. horror as a genre will always have its flops. but there will always be those few that revive the hype.
