you’ve  been  lonely   ?  you  were  embraced  in  a  hug   \   one  with  the  sun.   you  of  no  idea  what  the  sun  felt  like   \   if  the  burning  of  its  passion  was  of  love.   you  only  knew  of  winter   \   a  blizzard  of  darkness  that  held  no  warmth   ,   no  joy.   there  was  no  life  that  grew   \   only  death   &   the  fleeting  warmth  left.   each  vibrant  color  you  once  saw   \   soaked  in  darkness   &   painted  to  match  an  abyss  you’ve  yet  to  confide  in.   yet  all  the  same  your  heart  of  spring   \   you  were  no  sun   ,   but  there  was  a  warmth   (   a  light  only  you  could  provide   \   in  spring  there  was  only  renewal   \   there  was  a  blossoming  of  flowers   \   there  was  life  entering  a  never  ending  cycle   ).   so  when  you  cling  onto  the  other   \   you  think  you  finally  understood   (   why  icarus  fell  in  love  with  the  sun   ).

          a deep ache festers in asriel’s chest upon hearing the quiet despair / the lingering loneliness / the yearning for compassion he gave ( but never received ) so evidently laced in soft - said cadence. it’s a hurt he so understands, one that has even his fractured heart cannot help but urge him to reach out & comfort the lonely soul.

ACT: THINK ABOUT GOING BACKWARDS, BACKWARDS, BACKWARDS

It’s human to look back. It’s human to recall fond times, bad times, and mundane instances with an understanding that it’s passed. Things happen. Sometimes they’re without reason, they’re injustice, or are good but they happen. It isn’t human to go back. One shouldn’t return to fix things because most humans can’t manage such a feat. It isn’t right for Frisk to go back either. It isn’t right for Frisk to change things due to a mistake.

What’s done is done and the only way they can move is forward. Frisk won’t use the great and terrible power to reverse the clock. It’s a tempting power but great powers must be handled with care. Frisk’s sure one must be responsible with them.

Reaching out to Asriel Frisk squeezes his paw with their fingers and nods up at him. “Mhm,”they agree. After releasing him Frisk suggests, “Start now? From here this is the beginning.”

          asriel doesn’t remember the last time he was touched. ( but his last memory of being held was when he was fading / fading / fading, desperately clinging to mother & father, & then—- well, it is a story we all know the ending to. ) he nearly flinches away from their reach, but their hands are gentle & kind, hands almost as small as his own paws, & their words are like light. there’s a throb where his soul had once been, chest tightening with emotions, so many emotions. he’s missed this so much.

    ✱ don’t you miss everyone?

  he sways left and right to an unknown song. if he closed his eyes, the flower would blend in with the rest of the golden blooms right beneath the patch of sunlight save for the telltale grin upon his face. not that he would stay hidden for long, itching to do anything to stave off the boredom. but he looks at his past form, stuck in this limbo of existence and barely holding onto what he calls “himself”.

     ✱ you wanna be with THEM, right?      ✱ there’s nothing stopping you.          ✱ maybe, if you’re with them for long enough…          ✱ you’ll feel love again. just maybe.

          he misses them dearly / achingly / despairingly. he misses them all. the denizens of a once lost kingdom, toriel, asgore, even the human. here in these ruins where only forgotten sunlight shines, the way out seems so close, so in reach. he has the choice to leave... but. asriel looks at the talking flower, regarding him with a melancholic smile. ❛ it’s not as bad as you think. i’m better off here, i think. ❜ i can’t endanger them all again.
