Break the Silence

A possibility with the Tsukuyomi theory I thought off. What if there was a way to tie it back to the manner of how Yukine died? IF the flashbacks in the anime that Yato saw when naming Yukine were given approval by Adachitoka then we can infer somethings about Yukine’s life before he died. He had a sister but was separated from her when his mom took her to live with him while he git stuck with his dad. They were basically kids split up by a divorce/seperation. What’s more while we don’t know what happened to his sister (hopefully she lived) Yukine ended up dying at the hands of his abusive dad.

Ok how it all comes together in my mind is this. We don’t WHAT the incident is that scared the gods into having a “peace at all costs” mentality. But what if in the Noragami verse the breakup of Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi was involved in it somehow? And they both died and reincarnated in the process? What’s more since Noragami has made a point about how each incarnation of the gods are their own person even if they inherit their nature from their incarnations, what we have here is essentially this generation of Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi as kids who were split up by the “divorce” of their previous incarnations. What’s more Amaterasu is like Yukine’s sister (probably) in that she got to live. Amaterasu’s household is, I am guessing, supportive but strict. Yato/Tsukuyomi on the the other hand, like Yukine, ended up with the abusive parent.

While were on this train of though I wonder if Amaterasu, the REAL Amaterasu, is just a lonely girl who wants her brother/husband back?

Hello! That was interesting to read! But I think that it comes a little problematic in few parts.

First - The brother Amaterasu fought with, wasn’t Tsukuyomi but Susano. Tsukuyomi wasn’t very relevant on this matter when Amaterasu went to hide in the cave (there’s the whole analogy people suspect in Noragami about Yato going in the Yomi/cave, and once he went out, there’s a frame of the moon in the sky, like Amaterasu went out and the sun returned.)

I think that Yukine’s story is meant to mirror Yato’s story in a way. He grew with an abusive father, had a sister (while Yato’s sister stayed with father, we’re implied that Yukine’s sister went with his  mother). Probably Sakura was the mother figure in Yato’s life at least for a short time, and we have Yukine who even saw his mother in Hiyori one time when he was really afraid of the dark (very early in the story).
