The Clean Knife

This week we’ve progressed on puzzle design. Some old puzzles needed re-design prior to implementation, and now that that’s done we will be building them in the engine.

The current arc is more visually pleasing than the previous ones. That being said, graphical overhauls will be done once puzzles and cutscenes are complete.

In addition to that, we have a surprise for you guys coming sometime in the coming couple of weeks, so keep an eye out for that! It has us very excited, and hope you will like it as much as we do!

This week we’ve proceeded further into the second arc of the game. Two new puzzles were implemented, along with their mechanics and resources, and we are happy with the results! This second arc will be very visually appealing, and more mechanically engaging, as new main mechanics are introduced and explored in every arc.

Alongside this, we’re fine-tuning details in previous parts of the game, to have them match the standard of the later parts. Our skill as game devs improves as we progress, so this is bound to happen. Going back to improve on our work will allow the game to be more complete, and as engaging in the first parts as in the later parts.

This last month we began building the second out of three arcs in the game. This required some engine work for this level’s main mechanic. Now that we have that, we can proceed into the level itself.

This level will be our main focus for the next few months. As we’re working chronologically, we’re also testing the previous parts of the game. Some of our early testers are already giving us excellent feedback to work with, and it’s giving us a lot of motivation going forward.
