he really only paces when he’s wound up anxious. carter feels dumb for letting this girl get the best of him. and a camper, of all people. sneaking around is frustrating, having to watch chen parade around the pool in a tiny bikini is frustrating ( but at least he can hide his stares behind dark aviators). the old groundskeepers’ cabin by the lake serves as the perfect hideout what with it’s boarded up windows and solidarity. carter likes to think it’s his little secret, but the random initials carved into the floorboard says otherwise. the door creaks open allowing a streak of moonlight to seep into the dark cabin, outlining chen’s figure before closing and leaving them in darkness again. they move forward in unison, closing the distance between their bodies and it’s all hands and teeth. carter grips her hips and lifts her against the back of the cabin door, her legs wrapping around his waist. ”——you’re always late.”

yeah, he notices, but she’s usually forgiven the moment he gets his mouth on her.
