A charm is any object, usually pocket-sized, that’s charged with energy of some kind. An example is a lucky charm that’s worn as a necklace or a lock of hair charged with energy from the person it came from.

Charms can sometimes be called talismans, totems or pendants. Regardless of the name, with slight connotations, these little items can be used the same way.

I use charms when sometimes a crystal isn’t specific enough for my Intent (spell, ritual). Sometimes I’m doing an Intent based on my job but Citrine, also known as the Merchant’s Stone, isn’t quite specific enough, I’ll include a charm I charged with a specific energy.

For example let’s say I really need a specific day off but my job needs as many employees as it can schedule so often times they deny requests for time off, I’ll do an Intent using a golf pencil I took from the scheduling office.

I also collect the charms I have so that I can reuse them whenever an Intent needs it. Or, if it’s appropriate for the day, I’ll carry the charm in my pocket all day.

How to charge Charms

The easiest way to charge any object as a charm is if it already has a personal meaning to it. Choose something that reminds you of whatever that energy is. I have two cross pendants; one is wooden that reminds me of Catholicism and the second is metal and reminds me of Protestants. (Not because one is primitive to the other but because one came before the other.)

Once you have chosen an item and it’s meaning is clear, it’s time to charge with energy.

Purify the space you’re in to rid of residue energy (e.g. burning incense)

Use crystals for meditation and visualization, utilize crystal grids (simple or complex)

Write the specific meaning/significance/value of the charm on a piece of paper so you have a clear interpretation of it (you could make a prayer/incantation)

Burn a purple candle and drop wax on the paper connecting your Third Eye/Psyche to the energy attaching itself to the charm (one or two drops per charm, don’t waste a whole candle on one)

Once you have your Charms

Cataloging them in your guild book wouldn’t hurt. Like I mentioned, you can use them in specific Intents or carry them with you. Gift them to friends so they have energies around them. I also collect mine in a box so they aren’t randomly roaming around.

I like to use Charms in my Intents because they’re reusable, less waste and I don’t have to worry about purchasing new ones as if they run out (unless you give it away or lose it). Although I’ve come to realize the best charms are the ones I find randomly on the ground or in an old drawer. They radiate an energy that’s almost communicative like when grandparents tell you a simple memory but it sticks with you forever.

like for Christmas, giving kids specialized ornaments for daemons that Settled that year to celebrate their new form

Kids and their daemons staying up as late as they can on Christmas eve to watch for Santa, speculating about what Santa’s daemon could be, and whether or not they were good enough for an extra special present that year

❄ More importantly Dæmons sharing annoyed groans with their humans when that one absolutely terrible Christmas song starts to play for the hundredth time today.

❄ Dæmons and their people wearing matching special religious clothing and jewelry for Yule.  Dæmons with intricately decorated horns and antlers, Dæmons wearing crowns and necklaces weaved from pine, birch, holly, mistletoe, etc.

❄ Families dancing and singing around the Yule log bonfire together with their dæmons and ahhh just imagine all the different shadow shapes that the dæmons and their people would cast!

❄ Dæmons reminding their person that Yule is coming up soon and they still haven’t put together an altar or prayers or any spells.

❄ Children’s dæmons changing into smaller forms in order to have a better chance at being the first to find the Weihnachtsgurke (Christmas Pickle) hidden within the Christmas tree

❄ Gingerbread People with Gingerbread Dæmons!!!

❄ Making a Gingerbread house with your dæmon, who cares if they don’t have opposable thumbs they can still help out.

❄ People with reindeer dæmons probably get teasingly called ‘Rudolph’ a lot more than usual when this time of the year comes around.

Kids in south america trying to get their daemons to turn into a winter animal but the poor lizard be like “Anne it’s like 40 C° can we not”

Daemons turning into crocodiles and dolphins so they can hold their humans in the water so they can sleep in the pool when it’s too hot

Settled daemons with thick fur (wolves, artic animals, bears) absolutly dying bc it’s so hot

Daemons, unlike animals, are not hurt by fireworks, so they watch them with their humans. I imagine a monkey daemon and their human setting a lot of fireworks at the same time and almost blowing up the house

Daemons trying to get their humans to calm down when they start arguing about politics with that one conservative family memeber they almost never see

Kids having their daemons fight for fun (the one who loses pays for the ice cream)

Adults with daemons settled as very non-aquatic animals (i’m thinking camels fue example) still getting in the pool

Adults with insect/aracnid daemons having their daemons rest on their significant other’s aquatic daemons while they swim

Leyend says Santa has a polar bear daemon. The uncle with the polar bear daemon is the one who has to play Papá Noel and leave the presents and run when the children see him

Adults singing and dancing and getting tipsy and it reflects on how their daemons become clumsy and silly

Daemons trying to remind their humans that christmas is about being with family blah blah blah

Daemons stealing some meat for their kids to eat before dinner

Bird daemons getting accidentally hit with fireworks

crows have been documented holding ‘funerals’ for many years. however, researchers suggest that they may not be mourning; evidence indicates that crows may be examining the body & surrounding area for potential threats to the rest of the flock.

…….it’s a fucking autopsy and criminal investigation.

since then i assumed he was a bush viper- only to discover he is not a bushie but a pit a year ago. It was only a few months ago i found exact species- side striped palm pit viper. this whole time he was a palm pit viper and id just been misidentifing his species

despite the cross fox being Nyota Andhy’s most comfortable form he’s oftern switching, usually for the sake of efficiency when we walk around university and also because we like the variety.

the other two forms he often takes are of a ferret and a comemaíz.

My dae is called Danaë but I always call her Danny (and sometimes Khaleesi, because her name sounds so much like Daenerys). I think she’s one of the only girls in the gang lol. We haven’t found many other female daemons but she’s cool.

She’s the logical one, the voice of reason I guess. She keeps her head cold and looks at everything from an objective point if view. I see so many people with silly and funny daemons but she’s like a tiny adult. Just a very rebellious and energetic adult. She switches from coyote to black flying fox. She used to have a silver fox and a crab-eating fox phase but lately she hasn’t been taking these forms (she’s a flying fox rn :D)

We’re still holding on to the fox form a bit, but the raven is definitely one that is most important to us now.

As many of you probably know, corvids (jays, ravens, crows, jackdaws, and magpies) are extremely social and intelligent birds, and are known for engaging in all kinds of complex and adorable play. Ravens especially are known to play in snow.
