I have seen SOOOOOOO much negativity online lately towards people and it pisses me off to no end!

Calling the work of actual artists, writers, musicians, and producers slop

Posting out of context clips of things and going "wow this media sucks ass!" Without explaining why or how they would interpret it

Dog piling small artists over their inexperience or artstyle

It grinds my gears to no end!!! Being a hater isn't cool!!! If you dislike something so much why are you engaging with it? Why do you want to hurt others (especially creatives) online so badly? If you think a show sucks what would you do to "fix it"?

I feel like we've reached a point where sincerity is "corny" now and people think that being tarpits with 0 awareness is trendy now, AND IT SUCKS!!!

I understand that professional media isn't above criticism (keyword: PROFESSIONAL, please for the love of god don't go around giving unwanted advice/insults to hobby artists like fanfic writers, artists who draw for fun and self indulgence, or literally any SMALL scale passion project im begging you) but "cringe" or "this sucks" ISNT GOOD CRITICISM! saying that something is problematic or not pointing out what the problem is ALSO ISN'T GOOD CRITICISM!!!

If you want to criticize professional media (once again please don't do this to an artist who is doing this for fun, if they want input they will ask for it!) then you're gonna have to be well-meaning because anything mean-spirited will most likely be ignored (and also once again saying something sucks with no reason isn't constructive)

A true "hater" can pin down the things they don't like about something and explain them in a constructive way, they don't just spout insults or slang or buzzwords for interaction bait

Someone who truly cares about that state of whatever medium they criticize will encourage more than they discourage and would NOT call the work of real people "slop"

For example: I don't like Hazbin Hotel or Helluva Boss, I think they rely too much on sex humor and have a habit of making the ace character uncomfortable for comedy purposes, the writing is a bit messy and the over reliance on red for the colors is a bit much, HOWEVER do I harass the creator? No I don't, because the state of a show I dislike doesn't matter! Even if I personally dislike it doesn't mean it's "problematic" and even if it is, I can just ignore it! I can block the tags and move on! It's that easy!!

I hate how devisters is writing Shmilk, do I complain in the private group chat about it? ABSOLUTELY but I never gang up on the fans who like the way he's being written!

My point is that negativity can be used for good!! But unrestricted and unfiltered hate will only cause harm to you and those you hurt, the world isn't doing the great right now and making more problems for people (especially creatives) will only make things worse!

The best thing we can do is stay positive and lift up creators rather than demean them! Be constructive about it, discuss it in a calm collective way, and if you can't then write down everything you hate about it and come back when you're more relaxed, rant to your friends in private, etc!

It really hurts to see how much pessimism and vitriol is thriving online right now (it's even affecting smaller fandoms I've been in for several years now), it sucks to see so many people who do nothing but hurt others for their own gratification, but we have to stay hopeful for the future and I really hope this trend of bullying and gatekeeping dies down over the years

Shmilk of crk (as much of a ShadowVanilla truther as I am, I see their dynamic as some kind of indescribable mix of romantic and platonic that can't be explained but Shmilk is definitely demiromantic)

Don Quoitxe from Limbus Company (THIS ONE WILL GET ME SMITED BUT HEAR ME OUT-) (also I'm only on canto 5 so NO SPOILERS PLEASE!1!1!)

Battat Deltarune (bro is at LEAST some flavor of demi because ik that their dynamic with Tenna is another weird indescribable queer situation)

Madoka Kaname (I LOVE MADOHOMU SO SO SO SO SO MUCH BUT SO FAR MADOKA IS REALLY ARO CODED AND I NEED MY CRUMBS) (ok she thinks about impressing boys but not ONCE does she show any interest in a single person and most of her relationship knowledge seems to come from the world around her) (I already sound insane but IT'S THERE TRUST)

Surge The Tenrec (another one that I will be killed for but to me Surge exists directly in-between aro/ace and lesbian and it can go either way)

Queen Deltarune (it would be so fucking funny)

Rouxls Carrd (it would be so fucking funny imagine, the climax of the bit™ with rouxls is him going "waiteh I don'te want this-" and fulfilling his destiny of being single forever/j/silly)

Angela from PM (I have yet to fully read Library of Runia's story but the vibes are there)

Turbo Wreck it Ralph (I don't even fucking know man)

TAK from Invader ZIM (her episode is literally the most anti-romance valentines day special ever and it's so peak)

Some facts about her!1!1!

🌟 while she does roam around the land (the first place you see her is Orie), she spends most of her time in the old abandoned LUMINOUS Carnival, which is where her boss fight happens!

🌟 aside from curing the bloom another impossible goal she wishes to achieve is to create a world where no one has to die!

🌟 she has a bit of a Don Quoitxe motif! With the idea of her claiming to be the one destined to save the world when in actuality she's only sending it further to it's doom and harming anyone who tries to stop her!

🌟 SHE DOES HAVE A SWORD! while she mostly uses her prosthetic arm to "serve justice" she does also carry a sword with her sometimes and uses it in the boss fight alongside her claws!

🌟 this version of her was heavily inspired by the song Hero by Mili!1!1 (because I am normal about it)

🌟 her carnival theming is supposed to parallel Circuit from her main story, Haunted Scrapyard!1! Circuit and Syi are characters with a LOT of similarities and similar motives that drive their actions, so since Syi doesn't have her mad scientist swag in this AU she takes Circuit's circus theme!1!1! (Hero also has a bit of a carnival motif, the instrumental for the first verse sounds like carousel music and one of the lyrics is "Merry go round, in a circle I run")

like- the biggest inspiration for most of my art is Madoka Magica and in that series there's all these really funky "camera" angles and a HUGE focus on imagery that you don't really see in most animated series

(i couldn't find the best examples on the wiki so you just have to trust QwQ)

sometimes it purposely obscures a characters face for narrative reasons or puts the "camera" in a strange position so you cant see the full scene or makes it so there's a huge amount of empty space AND I LOVE IT SM!!1!1! this is another reason why i would KILL for an animated Limbus adaptation cuz the SHOTS IN THE ARTWORK ARE SOOOOO GOOOODDD
