add magically charged ingredients to your cooking

bless pre-made meals

bless your drinking water / add sigils to the bottom of your water bottle

craft an easily accessible, easily disguised shoebox or candy tin altar

keep crystals in your pocket or on your person for manifestation

magical planning, introspection, or meditation on low spoons days

practice energy manipulation with the energy readily available around you

gather natural items from the environment and use them as amulets or talismans, depending on what they are (acorns for protection, direction, and to ward against storms, for example)

bath and shower magic for self care if you can - a washcloth or makeup wipe with a simple incantation goes a long way

set a small open container of salt in your room to absorb bad vibes

or get a small salt lamp for the same purpose

open a window to let fresh air inside to cleanse your space

use wax melts, incense, or candles for positive vibes - you can carve sigils into the wax

choose scents that align with your intent for things like sprays, perfumes, soaps, candles, etc.

collect magical water for later use (rain, storm, moon, sun, etc.)

use beads and string or thread to craft charms for protection

craft a dream pillow with calming herbs such as lavender or chamomile for restful sleep

keep a tarot card or crystal under your pillow to manifest intentions as you sleep

cast a protection spell when you go to tie your shoes or buckle the seatbelt in your car

Like yes, there's no rules, but if your takeaway from that is that there's literally no rules, then I think you missed the larger conversation about the specific ways in which there are no rules.

What "there's no rules" means is that there is not one universal set of rules that applies to every practitioner.

It means that nobody gets to act as an authority on what the rules are for everyone else.

It means that if you show up on somebody else's post saying "the first rule of witchcraft is that you must only use magic for good" you will probably (and deservedly) be told to fuck off.

What "there's no rules" does NOT mean is that there are literally no rules. There are SO many rules. People just work within their own set of rules.

Some rules come with the territory of working within a specific tradition.

Some rules are set by entities that practitioners work with, and might be quite specific to each individual.

Some rules are like laws of physics. They define the mechanisms by which magic works within a paradigm, and what the limits are on what it can do. A magical practice consisting of "I can do literally anything," is typically a practice that hasn't had a lot of genuine thought put into it. I have yet to meet anybody who can literally turn invisible or fly.

Some rules are more like a personal code of ethics.

So, when you burst into someone else's post to announce that there are no rules, you might not be told to fuck off quite as quickly as if you turned up to impose your personal rules on other people, but you are essentially signaling that you do not understand the concept of rules within a magical practice.

Then a couple years later I got a fortune-telling kit that included a pendulum. You hold the pendulum over a piece of paper that says "yes" and "no" and ask a question, and whichever way the pendulum moves is the answer.

this just kinda lays out the act of spell-writing in a neat little infographic. i made this for visual learners like myself who like to have a template for things as a place to start.

these are categories that you can use to help you write and plan out a spell, in no particular order.

Literally print up mock divorce papers for your county (or the county where the issue started) and fill them out as if you were getting an actual divorce. Hold on to the papers for as long as you feel you need to and when you feel you are truly ready to release it. Burn them.
