Obviously, he couldn’t just so easily hide the fact that something was wrong. She already knew bits and pieces of his situation and it wasn’t like his behavior helped him sound convincingly alright. But to his young mind, words were just enough.

“...I’m okay.” He added on, still hugging the other. This was all he felt ready to do in all honesty.

Maybe he just hung out too much with people like him, but he didn’t see anything wrong with his own appearance.

“Oh, have you never seen an orca walk on two legs?”

He’s never seen an orca at all, but he isn’t sure that they were supposed to look like this.
