that ubiquitous quarter-life crisis that 27-year-olds face is hitting me hard. it completely swept me up from under my feet like an undertow. i feel like an awkward, anxious 12-year-old all over again -- except this time with some wisdom-laden silver streaks in my hair. i’ve been stuck in this monotonous void of isolation for the past couple years. it’s been so hard to face the big rock in front of me, i keep pretending it’s not there. but i can’t crush it all in one go. i must make the conscious decision to pick away at that rock little by little, step by step, one day at a time. it’s the only way i can move forward, to build myself up again, to accept vulnerability, to regain fulfillment.
