i think a lot of people want to believe that performing a certain aesthetic or being in a certain fandom makes you a better leftist, because they’re at least semi-aware that they aren’t doing enough. but instead of going out and trying to improve anything, they just reframe something they’re already doing as radical and leftist.

My yearly reminder that the Ramones were anti communist and Johnny Ramone in particular was a Republican.

Because Punk for a lot of punks, was very much anti government overreach. Hell Ozzy was a bit Goth himself and he was a Christian. Which you would think isn't possible but that's how it was. Because a lot of those crowds, didn't just view it as an aesthetic. And almost every single one of those crowds was anti-big government. And the most were anti-war. Also what Sir said is true. Leftist bullshit is the barely handing on as the dominate cultural and political system. So yeah no, dead wrong on that *nuh uh" you tried to pull. Because if you were correct, DEI would have never been a thing. Getting fired for, "misgendering" would never have been a thing. The"celebrate pride month or else" would never have been a thing.

This has become one of those lines that I'm now happy to lose friends over, whether they identify themselves as "left" or "right": if you are gleefully celebrating the deaths of your fellow human beings simply for voting differently to you or caring about issues you take the opposite stance on, you yourself have become the monster, and the enemy of all humanity, regardless of whatever those within your belief bubble tell you when egging you on.

Why do all people with pronouns in their bios think it's funny to 'joyously' kill people?

Adult movies, whatever my husband and I are watching. I don't give her preferential treatment, she doesn't control my television, and I don't censor her from R-rated media. I will avoid things that I know are Very Scary or Gory, because she can't consent to that kind of fear, but I have not sanitized my own viewing experiences for her sake because I think that kind of behavior is insane.
